1985 Mitsubishi Montero. Condition is "Used".
Car is completely Stock except for an upgraded Weber carburator (32/36) installed about 1000 miles ago. In the month of december a full tune up was done to the vehicle, this includes:
oil change
spark plugs
spark plug wires
distributor cap
distributor rotor
fuel filter
wiper blades
power steering system flushed and refilled
Tank was dropped and flushed as well as a new tank fill tube was installed. Power steering lines were leaking, they were removed and new power steering lines were bent and installed with new fittings.
Vehicle has body rust on outside of rockers, rear fender arches and back rear cab corners. Frame is SOLID and all rust is strictly cosmetic. Vehicle starts every time with ease, it cruises at 60-65 no problem. This is the top of the line trim with every option except for AC. the additional options include: cassette player, rear wiper, LSD rear end, rear sliding windows, suspension (shock) driver seat - for offroading, headlight sprayers, auto locking front hubs for 4x4.
4wd works GREAT. this was the model that mitsubishi won the Dakar rally with 7 times !
Besides the rust, the only thing it needs is the HVAC system cleaned. the heat works well however there was a mouse nest i removed above the heater core and there's still a slight mouse nest smell if the blower fan is turned on.
Vehicle starts great, runs well, brakes well and can be driven daily as is. This is identical to the Dodge raider. I bought this car in september from the orignal owner and have most of the original paperwork for it including the original warranty details, dealer ads and the orignal option sheet and MSRP - which if i remember correctly was around $12000.
