1980 Mini Classic Mini

1986 Austin Mini Cooper. I imported this from the UK in 2013. It is Right hand drive, nd has front disc brakes. It has a 1380cc engine with a close ratio 4 speed. It is very quick, nd one of the most fun cars I have ever owned. I wanted to make it mechanically sound before worrying about cosmetics.
It has had about $11,000 worth of work in the last 4,000 miles, ncluding brakes, omplete clutch,shock, heel bearings, ront end, ear main seal, xhaust, anifolds, tc. I have all receipts in hand. I also have a full cloth sunroof new in the box. New wheel arches, ew trunk hinges, ew foglights, tc. The plan was to strip it, aint it, nd have a very nice, ery fast, ini. Instead of painting it then selling it, figured let someone else decide what color they want the car to be.
It does have some rust, ostly bubbles, othing major, o holes in the floor, tc. It has a pop up sunroof, hat does not leak
If you want a mechanically finished, ini, his is it. Want a perfect looking car, his is not it. Any questions, ust ask. Everything is included in the price, ar, arts, xtra wheels, tc.
This car is 100% legal, aryland title, ot a Re-Vin (illegal) import

Here is an answer for a few questions:

Q: How bad is the rust? anything structural?

A: The worst spot of rust is in the trunk, nd is in the above photos. Non of the rust has gotten worse since I brought it over from England. It is garage kept

Q: How does it run?

A: It runs great! It is also a 30 year old car that is based on a 50+ year old car. It is loud, t makes noises, t rattles, tc. Sometimes you get a whiff of oil, ometimes gas, ust like any other old car. this will not run as smooth as a 2015 Toyota Corolla. If you want that, uy the Corolla. If you want to go 100mph in a golf cart, uy this.

Q: Why are you selling it?

A: I always wanted a classic mini, nd wanted to import it myself, o I did. I made it mechanically sound with plans to do the cosmetics later. I just haven't done that yet. I own other cars, nd drive those more. My daily driver is an Audi R8. I just finished a restoration of my 64 Datsun 1500, o I have vintage and sports covered. I just don't see using this one much. If it does not sell, will just keep it, nd do the cosmetics.

Q: What parts do you have?

A: I have the parts to finish the cosmetics. Full cloth sunroof, runk hinges, oor hinges, heel arches, og lights, instripes, oof trim, nd I am sure a few little things here and there.
