1949 MG Other

World War II interrupted MG production, ut the MG TC carried on where the short-lived pre-war MG TB left off — the epitome of tradition, nspoiled by progress. With a 4-cylinder, 250 cubic inch overhead-valve engine that produced 54 horsepower, nd a top speed of around 75 mph, t was a dream of every "car guy" soldier.
The MG TC was the first postwar MG launched in 1945 and production ended in 1949 with an estimated 1900 of these cars reaching the United States of which 494 were imported as 1949 models. They were exported to the United States, ven though they were only built as right-hand drive. The export version had slightly smaller U.S. specification: sealed-beam headlights and larger twin rear lights, s well as turn signals and chrome-plated front and rear bumpers. The tachometer was directly in front of the driver, hile the speedometer was on the other side of the dash in front of the passenger.
10,001 TC's were produced, rom September 1945 to November 1949. This was more than any previous MG model.
In all, he MG TC offers a joyful way to experience motoring, ust as it was at the dawn of the post-war era.
This 1949 MG TC is a terrific example and will make a great addition to any car collection. Contact us today here at Brighton Motorsports with any questions you may have.
