Description:

1961 MG MGA

I’ve had this car for a few years, but I’m not likely to get to it, so it’s best to pass it on to another restorer. It is an excellent car for restoration, and it has a clear Oklahoma title in my name. There is the usual body rust on the rocker panels, on the front bulkhead shelf and on the radiator duct panel. The trunk floor, trunk lid, doors, and hood are solid. The true mileage is unknown.

The engine is the correct 1600 unit. It turns over by hand, but it needs a tear-down and complete rebuild. The radiator is a nearly new one that has had very little use. It has two extra cooling fans on the front. The transmission shifts through all gears. The carburetors are early MGB 1.5-inch HS4 models. They are not the originals for a 1961 MGA, although they should work fine on this car after a rebuild. Also, they are the right ones if the next owner wanted to switch to an 1800 MGB 3-main engine. The front brakes are discs, and the rear brakes are drums. The car comes with a top frame, side curtains, and a rear luggage rack. The seats have old vinyl covers.

The car has a clear Oklahoma title in my name. It is available for inspection in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Itrolls and steers, and I can assist with loading. The car will be released for shipment, and the title sent, when payment has cleared. The reserve price is low.
