1961 MG MGA Roadster

1961 MGA Roadster "Sebring style" vintage racer

1961 MGA Roadster with original factory 1600 cc engine with dual SU150 carbs that runs and drives beautifully. Always starts right up and ready to go.

Prior to listing it here, I just had the car gone over by well known British mechanic Gary Nyes at the restoration shop "Basically British" to make sure it mechanically ready for a new owner. Car has been set up to look like a vintage Sebring style racer but has never been raced, just used most recently as a weekend, fair weather car for country driving. On that note, it could possibly be easily readied to race.

Car includes:

Racing windshield

Custom bonnet (hood) scoop with leather straps

Custom, removable Headrest Cowl

Shaved bumpers

Wired screened headlights and grill

Tonneau

Original Drivers handbook and Workshop Manual, all marked (fading but all updates documented) and purchase records going back to the 1960's on car

Wire knock of wheel & spare (new)

Matching numbers engine

I bought the car from a British car enthusiast last year, and car had a ton of new parts installed during his ownership, including a new gas tank, fuel pump, water pump, hoses, plugs, wires, dynamo, electrico dizzy, starter, master cylinder, brake lines, brakes, rebuilt suspension, exhaust, tires, wires wheels and many more new parts. Car also includes several boxes of additional spare parts, the original roof bows and top, side curtains, luggage rack, etc.

She is not a perfect show car as it's been driven and enjoyed, having a few paint chips and wear if you look closely and has a typically slightly dirty engine and under carriage from being driven. Body has older paint job and shows great, always draws attention at the shows. Car drives straight and true, handles very well on our mountain roads or open highway. Car has been garaged and babied since new as evident by all the records kept on it.

Floors boardsare said to be the original and seem very solid. I feel no soft spots but request you inspect or hire a car inspector. If you can't come see the car inperson, there is an antique car inspector/appraiser in our area if you wish to hire a 3rd party inspector (which I highly encourage).

Car is in Western North Carolina, approx 40 minutes South of Asheville. PLEASE, call with questions, for videos of the car running or to set up a timefor a test drive & inspection. I can send any pictures you want and I havealso just listed this car on another antique car web sites, and reserve the right todelete ad if sold prior to expiration of this ebay ad.
