1947 MG T-Series Roadster

This exceptional 1947 MG TC Roadster is a ground-up restoration that has been judged to the highest standards of accuracy and finish in rigorous Antique Automobile Club of America judging, presented with AACA Junior, Senior, Grand National and Senior Grand National awards. The exterior is finished in classic British Racing Green, with properly painted silver wire wheels mounted with correct Dunlop tires. The interior has also been restored with correct Biscuit light tan leather that is in very good condition and fitted with safety belts. The finish of the wood dashboard is superb, including clear gauges, all switches, controls and trim, fitted with a Bluemels Brooklands steering wheel. A tan cloth top and top boot add to the exterior presentation, along with Lucas King of the Road headlamps with correct and rare cat's-eye lenses, a badge bar mounted with a single spotlight, an auxiliary horn and AACA awards, with dual spares mounted at the rear. With right-hand drive, this features a 1,250cc engine with 4-speed manual transmission. Under the hood, the quality and conservation of the restoration are again in evidence with the correctly painted firewall, hardware, accessories and trim all appearing like-new.

This 1947 MG TC is a magnificent example of the classic British Roadster and is an absolute joy to drive. 1.3-Litre (1,250cc) 54hp/64lb-ft 4-Cylinder Engine. 4-Speed Manual Trans. The MG TC has truly classic looks, not unlike early Jaguars and Triumphs. The design is magic. It's elegant and absolutely stylish, with a disproportionately long hood. Professionally restored and excellent throughout. The MG TC is a standard transmission, rear-wheel-drive roadster. It represents the state-of-the-art in engine design, transmission, and suspension... for 1947. The MG does have rack and pinion steering, which for its time was a superb offering --- and was a big improvement over the reins and stirrups that were in use just a few years earlier. Because there are no controls, ergonomics are superb. The few switches that do exist are right where they should be, because there's plenty of room on the dashboard for controls and amenities that will only come decades later.
This stunning example of the British MG TC has undergone a no-expense-spared, meticulous body-off restoration. A very tidy classic British roadster that is finished in a classic British Racing Green over a fabulous Biscuit coloured leather interior. a 1,250cc 4-cylinder engine with 4-speed manual transmission. All paint, chrome, brightwork, upholstery and trim show famously. Notable features include a folding windscreen, turn signals, electric wipers, driver side-view mirror, dash-mounted rearview mirror, chrome exhaust tip, front and rear bumper over riders, and full original instrumentation. The car rides on original wheels with original polished hubcaps, plus a matching trunk-mounted spare. MG delivers a pure British driving experience and this TC is an exceptional example. This car runs beautifully and is a joy to drive. The cleanliness of the undercarriage displays the high level of care provided by its previous MG enthusiast owner. Everything from the wooden frame, to the brake and fuel lines, suspension components, horns and steering components are in all in excellent condition and show to a very high standard.
