1955 MG TF 1500 ROADSTER NO RUST RARE FIND *LOW RESERVE* ORIG CALIFORNIA CAR

Price: - Item location: Novi, Michigan, United States
Description:

1955 MG T-Series

Attention British car enthusiasts and collectors:

You are viewing a very rare 1955 MG TF 1500 Roadster garage find. Original California zero rust example. Same family ownership for over 40 years. Matching numbers (documented in pictures). Always garage stored and used sparingly over the years. The long time owner had passed away and the car sat unused for the last 20 years. The license plate is dated 1996.

The long time owner was an executive with "CBS Records" based in California. Back in the day, the MG eventually made it's way to Michigan where it was used sparingly on only the nicest days. The MG still retains the "CBS Records" parking sticker which supports the history. The "TF" has the perfect amount of patina and would be perfect to get mechanically sorted for a great driver example.

A wonderful opportunity for the British car enthusiast that is looking for a wonderful opportunity to purchase an appreciating classic.

Under the hood: The original 1500 is all original and correct to the best of my knowledge. Everything looks tidy with no modifications. Has all the data plates showing that it is a matching numbers car as shown in the pictures. The car has not been started since being out of storage, however after installing a battery, it does turn over freely when engaging the pull start on the dash. I was told that one of the spark plug threads was damaged at some point, so that will need to be addressed. The engine oil is clear, and the carbs move freely. All of the exterior lights are in working condition.

Body: The body is in very good original condition as shown in the pictures. The body and frame show no rust. Paint is in good original condition showing some scratches, nicks and other paint imperfections that would be expected from a survivor example. Driver's door latch is loose. The frame and underside are in excellent condition with no indication of rust or damage. Windshield is in good condition with no cracks or damage. Windshield to body gasket in good condition as well. Fitted with period Lucas clear driving light as well as the yellow fog light. As shown in the pictures, it is fitted with a grill badge bar - which includes the badge for the California "T" Register.

The interior is in good original condition. Both of the seats are well preserved showing very little wear. Both door panels are in nice condition as well as the carpet. Dashboard is original and correct. Has not been cut up or modified. Has manually operated wipers.

Includes the original side curtains (4) as well as the convertible top frame. There is no convertible top.

The MG is being sold in "as is" condition with no warranty expressed or implied. I cannot be held responsible for any errors or inaccuracies that may have been inadvertently been provided.
