Description:

1973 MG MGB

I am offering for sale my summertime (fair weather only) MGB. This MGB is located in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. I purchased the car in the Spring of 2011 from the previous (lady) owner who lived in Bucksport, Maine. This prior owner bought the "B" from a dealer located in Englewood, Colorado (have the bill of sale). The date of sale was 05/05/03 and the mileage recorded was 84,794. This previous owner spared no expense in improving the condition of the car as she was gifting it to a close friend. The "B" was totally disassembled, properly prepped, painted in clear/basecoat and reassembled. There is no evidence of any sheet metal /rust repair. All seams appear to be as from the factory. I have extensive service receipts from her period of ownership. When I purchased the car, I made some upgrades of my own to include, but not limited to, new seat bottom cushions and factory correct seat covers, new door panels, new correct mirrors, new bumpers and guards, new grille, new tires (have less than 3k miles), some new stainless side trim, new logo rubber mats, trunk dress-up kit, refinished/painted Rostyle wheels, new trim rings, new radio antenna with removable mast, etc. The car has the correct jack, lug wrench, and owner's manual. During my years of ownership, I have entrusted the service of this vehicle to Leyland Motors (exclusively vintage British) located in Arundel, Maine. I have extensive service receipts of my own (carbs rebuilt last summer) to be included for the new owner.

During each of the last six summers I have driven this car only when the weather has been non- threatening. At all other times is has been kept under cover. I have clay barred and waxed this vehicle. I have driven the "B" twice to Stowe, Vermont to the British Invasion car show without incident. This MGB starts easily, shifts well (into and out of working overdrive), has excellent brakes, etc., etc. (I folded the new top incorrectly once years ago causing a small split in the sail panel area on the left side/see photo). The trip meter currently reads 608 miles driven this summer. Each winter the car is properly stored indoors. Each summer the "B" is removed from storage, cleaned, top folded and stored under the boot cover, and it is not raised again until the car is returned to storage at summer's end. Remembering that this MGB is 43 years old, I would describe its condition to be very good to excellent overall. The reason for sale is that my wife and I are in our mid seventies and we are undergoing a lifestyle change.

Terms and conditions of sale; do not bid if you are not serious about buying. Feel free to call me 386-299-4005 (tire kickers don't waste my time or yours) or email me with any questions. Please arrange to see the car in person if possible. This car is being sold "as is, where is" without any warranty written or implied. At auction's end payment must be made in full within five business days via cash (in person), wire transfer, or certified bank check. Transport is entirely the responsibility of the buyer. The seller will cooperate with reasonable arrangements. THE TITLE AND THE CAR WILL NOT BE RELEASED UNTIL I HAVE SECURED THE FUNDS OF PURCHASE. Good luck with your bidding. This is a very, very nice car!

No texts please.
* Additional information-the fuel gauge reads only at 3/4 when the tank is full.I had the sending unit replaced with a new one from Moss Motors but the problem persists. Sending an electric signal from the tank will cause the gauge to rise to full.I just decided to live with it.
