Price: - Item location: Tekonsha, Michigan, United States
Description:

1975 MG Midget

1975 MG Mdget that looks like a "Bugeye Sprite". Starts good and runs good. Does not smoke or use excessive oil. Gets 30+mpg.
Someone spent a lot of time modifying this car, perhaps for vintage racing. The Bugeye Tilt Front has louvers and a rod to hold it open. It is easy to get at the battery and other engine parts. They built Fiberglas fender extentions to cover the wide tires. There is also a small wing on the trunk. The gas filler cap is in the trunk. The Red Metal Flake paint just glows in the sun (note one photo tries to show this). Looking under the hood one photo shows that the heater is removed (for racing probably) but it would be easy to install another.
The top is new and is black. There is also a black tonneau cover that fits around the rollbar. The seats look original and are black vinyl. All gauges are the original MG Midget. The fuel gauge does not currently work but may only be a bad ground at the fuel tank sender.
The transmission is 4 speeds forward. The clutch feels like a racing clutch because it "grabs fully" almost as soon as the clutch pedal leaves the floor. The 1500cc engine has a single carburetor. There is a photo of this single carb. In the photo of the trunk, you can see the spare tire and the original Jack that fits in the hole in the side of the Midget.
If you would like a Bugeye Sprite with roll up windows instead of side curtains, plus a truck with a lid, this might be the car for you!
I have 4 collector cars and many other toys. I will sell some of them if I can get a fair price. My starting bid with No Reserve is my "minimum" price...I hope to get a little more. Call Jack at 517.206.3206 with questions.
