1967 MG MGB

Up for auction we have everything you could ever want in a classic and absolutely stunning example of an unmolested MK I 1967 MGB roadster. This matching numbers car has always been registered in California and has covered just 33,227 miles and is still sporting original factory black paintand just the perfect amount of patina. Looking closely around the car there is no evidence of it ever being in an accident, all panels having good fit and original hardware. If you’re an MG enthusiast looking to own one for yourself to enjoy, or just looking to invest your money into a car that will surely maintain its value, then this is what you’re looking for.Cars like this are getting so very hard to find.

This MG starts up without hesitation from cold with the pull of the choke; it has a very smooth and healthy idle and excellent pep to the engine as you get ready to hit the road. The car shows good oil pressure, charging, and shows no signs that it wants to overheat. The original 4 speed manual transmission shifts perfectly even sychro second works fine . The steering feels nice and tight the way you would want it to be and the brakes are firm and under load pull up nice and straight. The suspension feels and looks to be in great condition.

The exterior original factory black paint looks phenomenal, it is amazing that paint that is coming up for its 50th year can look so good. The black tonneau cover is flawless and suits the car perfectly. The chrome front and rear bumpers are nice and shiny along with all the exterior chrome trim. The outer seals around the windshield could do with replacing sometime down the line to make perfect. The fit and gap of this MG is fantastic all around as evidenced by the minimal paint chipping away in places of constant wear. There is one small dent just above the front grille on the drivers’ side and a blemish to the paint on the hood of the car as well, but in my opinion they just add character, and quite frankly the car is so buttoned up that it’s hard to even notice these small imperfections. The passenger side door needs adjusting as it needs to be closed with a little too much force. The trunk space is tidy and complete with spare wire wheel and stow in metal top frame and cover. The underside of the car is so clean (see pictures). You can tell that this MGB has been well maintained and garaged throughout its whole life in California.

A beautiful interior compliments this classic MG, complete with the very desirable untarnished “metal dash” and the original Mark I gear lever with the sexy slant towards the top of the shift. The interior electrical is all working as it should. The headlights (high and low beam), brake lights, side lights, indicators, and hazards all work. The gauges read accurately, and the horn functions as well. The windshield wipers also work. The old school radio is not original to the car but it does look great and even more importantly it sounds great. The seats and door panels are red with black piping and the interior carpeting is red as well. The seat covers have been replaced and they really need to be taken off and refitted with some more padding. The black rubber “MG” monogrammed rubber mats that sit under the drivers and passengers seat are excellent. All glass is clear, uncracked, and unscratched. The quarter light windows latch and unlatch as expected. Overall everything is in very good condition; my one critique of the interior would be the seat covers.

This 1967 MGB was built before government-mandated laws watered down the B's performance and good looks with smog pumps, plastic dashboards, and rubber bumpers, making this an absolute joy to own and drive. To many aficionados, a '67 MGB is thecrème de la crème, and finding one that has survived without any rust or major accident damage and--after 50 years--looks like it's just a couple of years old is a rare occurrence.

As always I would advise inspecting the car in person if at all possible. Please also note that we reserve the right to end this auction early should we receive an offer we can't refuse.
