1967 MG MGB B-GT

Here is a very special and hard to find little jewel of a car. This 1967 MGB-GT is a California Car that I have owned for over four years. It was very tired when I got it, ut unmolested and I loved the black color with the red leather interior, lthough very little of it was still intact inside. The car needed to be restored and as usual, went overboard thinking at first that a good freshening up of the body and interior would make it a fun driver, ut one bolt leads to the next and what I have spent I will never recover. The car received a very high quality repaint with glass out except the rear decklid glass. The interior was redone in the factory red leather with white piping and an all new interior panel kit and carpet kit from England. All new foam in the seats, lasted and repainted frames. The front windshield, ts rubber and chrome surrounds were all replaced as were the interior door cappings, xterior window rubbers, nterior window and door seals, nd the steel dash was professionally refinished with the correct crackle finish, hen the dash top recovered and the dash edge retrimmed all while the windscreen was out for a proper job. The interior looks stunning with a new correct period steering wheel and centerpiece, nd the radio blanking plate. The headliner was newer and in black and was retained and compliments the overall excellent appearance inside. The correct speaker box was sourced and looks new. On the outside, ew chrome wire wheels were fitted all around with all new tires and all the bumpers and bumper guards are brand new. Side mouldings are all new. The original grille cleaned up nicely and has a new badge and all the lamps were replaced with new ones, n front the entire lamp units were replaced not just the lenses. The rears were excellent and lenses replaced with new correct seals. . The gorgeous interior and exterior of this car get rave reviews everywhere it goes. Mechanically, t has received a bottom end overhaul and a rebuilt head. The engine runs flawlessly and does not burn oil or have any noise on start up and maintains superb oil pressure while running cool with a new radiator, ater pump, il cooler lines, nd all hoses and belts replaced. All the brake and clutch hydraulics are new and a new clutch was fitted as well as all new u-joints and rebuilt calipers and wheel cylinders. The car has a new exhaust as well. The heater controls are new, ll operating cables are new, nd the SU carburetors were rebuilt. Heater blower motor works well without squeal, nd the wipers work fine with new blades (not shown) So what is left to do? A few things for the new owners, ut nothing that will prevent you from driving and enjoying the car from day one.It is simply a delight to drive. I installed a pertronix ignition and the tachometer needs to be reset for negative earth and the pertronix. The speedometer has been rebuilt and the lovely dual oil pressure and temperature gauge is brand new and works perfectly. All the lighting works and a new turn indicator switch will be installed as the original has gone intermittent. The car should have a matching set of locks installed (cheap and easy, just never lock my car. However the ignition switch is new and so is the glovebox lock and those two match).Car needs sun visors (available from the usual suppliers. I am tall and never use them. I am sure the new owner will find some other little things that I cant think of or that don't bug me but its not much. The car is an absolute stunner and getting hard to find. There was very little rust in the car when we started on it, ut the floors were stripped and had a few tiny holes patched (see photos of lovely floors) and the trunk is perfect and completely rust free ( ran out of photo room so email if you want trunk pics or other details). The spare wheel is a very good non chrome correct wire wheel and good tire. There were some rear speakers installed in the side panels but they have been deleted and the interior panels will need to be installed over that area. I have the matching material that came with the interior kit but have not made them up. Very easy. Lastly, ne thing I want to mention for full disclosure is that after assembly the otherwise mechanically delightful car exhibited a weak second gear synchro. I mention it because its there and its really not a big deal as a slower shift works fine and I am not out racing the car. The rest of the transmission works so well, nd is quiet and I am just not ripping it apart again over that one synchro. The cars engine room deserves a good detailing and that's about it. This car is truly beautiful and drives amazing. It is tight and snug and very comfortable and is a car you can do a few more things to and have a show winner. You could not build this car for what the very low reserve is, ven if you started with a free car. If you have wanted a nice, ollectible B-GT that is the correct and most desirable year, HIS IS IT! I am happy to answer questions and also to take additional pictures although I do not have access to a hoist for underneath photos, t is a clean dry car but I can jack it up and take whatever you need as best as I can. Thanks for looking. This is a really great opportunity. I am doing a Triumph TR250 right now and I need the space and the lovely B just isn't getting used enough. Original California blue plate on car and currently licensed and registered in my name. I will miss this amazing car. Thanks for your interest. I always reserve the right to end early and I will listen to offers but there is not a buy it now. The reserve is truly crazy low for this car.
