This car was purchased a few years ago with the intentions to go over this car and finish it. It has been sitting, I do not have the time to put into it to finish it, to enjoy and appreciate this true classic. This auction is for a 1951 Mercury 2 door coupe which has been customized, nosed, decked, frenched, shaved, hood has been rounded on corners. Very cool look for this custom classic. The cool stuff about this bright red custom classic: frenched headlights with parking lights/signal in them, 49 custom mercury grill, aftermarket ribbed front bumper. All corners of hood are rounded, all hood trim was removed. Fender trim relocated to the doors for a custom look. The door handles have been shaved. A door popper was installed but doesn't seem to work properly. The trunk lid has also been shaved, and does have a working popper that unlocks the trunk. This Merc has non functional Lakewood side pipes, cruiser fender skirts in the rear that gives this classic an awesome look. It has the original tail lights and the original bumper in the rear. This custom is riding on big white wall tires. The details:Mileage is unknown. a 350 cubic inch small block Chev, 4 bbl Holley Carb, backed up by an automatic transmission, with power steering and power brakes, aluminum intake, dual exhaust and headers. This also has an aluminum radiator. This Merc is sitting on a GM chassis/drive train. The floors have been fabricated to accommodate the Chevy frame.Interior has black cloth bucket seats, console, new black carpet, door panels have been recovered in black vinyl.Does not have a headliner installed but the headliner rods are with the car. Tilt steering column with an after market chrome steering wheel. The previous owner installed after market gauges and put the tact where the speedometer originally was. A new speedometer which has 0 mileage on it, was mounted in a pod and mounted under the dash. The interior would need to be gone over and finished. This Merc is an older build, it has some flaws. Paint is shiny and presentable but does show some chipping, fading, normal wear and tear for an older build. The rear bumper is not perfect, it has some surface rust and a few kinks.Since this Merc has been purchased by me, it has been sitting in a garage and I have only driven it around the yard.
