Description:

1950 Mercury 4-Dr. Sports sedan Deluxe

I am selling this superb 1950 Mercury Sport Sedan for a friend of mine whose ill health has motivated him to finally let loose of this extraordinary car. This is a frame-off restoration which has been a winner on the national award circuit from both FMC and AACA meets, as well as too numerous to mention local auto shows.
The pictures will show this wonderful car in all its beauty, and which has not been out of the garage in many months. It has very few miles (only local, for shows, and such) since its restoration, and just flat appears as new on close inspection. I even have the original dealer brochure that goes with the car.
The car has all the options available that year, plus spotlight, radio, 3-speed "Touch-A-Matic" overdrive transmission and Mercury's "Merco-Therm" Ventilating and Heating System. Also included are Fender Skirts and 1950's essential Drive-In Movie option, a spotlight, with which you could play "Spotty" while waiting for the movie to start.
When you slide into this spacious 6-seater, with its deluxe interior, you feel the car is new or barely used. It shows no wear of any kind, anywhere, and I was only able to find one spot (pictured) with a small flaw. Even the pedals appeared as new. This car needs nothing and has no mechanical issues of any kind. Mercury advertised that the powerful flat-head V8 purred, and it really does. With its 6.8 to 1 compression ratio, it uses inexpensive gas available anywhere.
We have a motivated seller and he has set a most reasonable reserve; he is also open to reasonable offers and I encourage you to let me know if you need additional pictures or information of any kind. Of course we will help with loading the car with your shipper, and there is no hurry to pick the car after full payment in order to allow you time to arrangement shipment. It can be shipped world-wide very simply.
If you have always wanted a "James Dean" Mercury, here is your chance and I doubt you could find a better one. It would cost a prohibitive $50,000+ to restore a car to this condition -- which I subjectively rate a 9 out of 10 -- after you found a rusty example to start with. This car has NO rust anywhere. It is a Best of Show winner on many occasions, and is probably a 95+ point car.
Wire transfer is preferred but a cashier's check is acceptable, of course once it clears my bank. Cash is always acceptable.
