1967 "S" code GT Org & Unmolested- Partial 501c3 credit; Marti report

Price: - Item location: Blackfoot, Idaho, United States
Description:

1967 Mercury Cougar

This is a CA black plate, non running/non driving, "unmolested" 1967 S code which is being advertised as it was listed on eBay by the previous seller when I bought the car during Hurricane Florence. As I live in NC the damage here hasn't allowed me to make it out to pick it up so lets see if the cat will get a new home by Xmas...

The previous seller notes he is member of both Classic Cougar Community and Mercury Cougar.Net. For legitimate and serious bidder's other questions could possibly be scheduled to be answered by phone.

1st- The car is located in Blackfoot, ID.

2nd- I have the current ID clear title and all transferred paper work. This is a black plate car delivered to Joe Kerley L-M in San Jose, CA. Marti report, as well as org owners manual, build sheet and invoice included.

3rd- The previous seller's photos and partial listing are being used in this sale.

Everything here looks to check out about the car except there is NO ORIGINAL DOOR DATA PLATE.... ... I have a new Marti data plate included in the sale.

Regarding the previous seller's comment on the rust at the roof and replacement; after discussing the condition and looking at photos this would appear to be fixable depending on metal working skills.

There are numerous receipts and CA registration certificates from the previous owners. The car appears to have never left CA until purchased by the previous seller; the last certified miles by CA inspection station in May 1997 are shown as 82,906 with a dated receipt in July showing 84,192 miles. The last CA registration for 2006 is included but no mileage is listed. The car is sold unknown miles however it would appear the odometer reading is correct.

As listed by previous seller:

"I purchased this black plate car out of northern California about two years ago. It's been sitting in my garage for that entire time and I haven't touched it except to sit in it and admire the musty old car smell. The only issues with the sheet metal on this car have arisen from the vinyl roof that was once on the car. It leaked and now the front floors are soft near the front of the floor pans. It's not even the entire front pans but more like the front half of each of the front floor pans. The cowl is solid, trunk is solid except for small holes near the drain plugs, drop downs are solid, torque box is solid, frame rails are solid, quarters, doors and fenders are solid. I went over this car with a magnet and found two spots that have mud in them. The very front of the drivers fender and just above the driver rear wheel well. Both likely from fender benders at some point in the last 50 years."

"I'm not going to blather on about the "completeness" of this car because it is COMPLETE so please don't ask a redundant question on that topic. And you can see options from ORIGINAL window sticker in the pics. Needs complete restoration outside, inside and under the hood. Will need a new roof which will be provided. Does not run or drive and I've never even turned it over because the gas smells horrible. Engine turns by hand and transmission shifts in and out of gear."

"As you can tell the car also comes with nearly a complete new interior except for carpet and headliner. Car even still has it's original Cinnamon Frost paint scheme and paisley parchment interior."[*Note- there is an invoice dated 1982 for a full repaint in lacquer with clear coat]

"Received a question regarding the roof so I went out and pulled the headliner and insulation down. I really only found two small pinholes near the front of the roof. However there is surface rust around the inside rim of the roof where moisture obviously condensed. And as we all know "the rust you can see is only half the problem". I can't see all the way to the edges of roof because of the roof supports. I've never repaired a car roof but I guess this roof has no major holes and could be usable with some major work. I'm not telling you that it is a good roof however so bid with that in mind. If you don't want the included roof panel that is fine as well."
