Description:

1993 Mercury Tracer

Having long been convinced of the durability and economy of this series Escort / Tracer, (I have owned four of them), I purchased this little Cayman Green wagon in 2016. The odometer showed 22000 miles, and everything on the car was original, including the factory correct 1993 date-coded Goodyear Invecta tires. I purchased it for my daughter, who carefully drove it back and forth from Brighton, Colorado to Ft. Irwin, California several times over the past two years, (all highway miles). She recently purchased another vehicle. The Tracer has sat unused in my shop since May, so I am reluctantly listing it.The car currently has 30910 miles, and is in excellent mechanical condition, with a brand new Colorado 1 year emissions certificate. It starts, drives, shifts, and stops exactly as you would expect from a 30,000 mile Mercury tracer. No check engine lights, fluid leaks or other issues. The air conditioning blows cold, and all of the lights and accessories operate normally. The oil and filter were just changed, and the auto transmission fluid is bright red. The only changes from new are a set of tires, (less than 500 miles), a replacement ignition switch, a professionally installed Sony AM-FM-CD player with bluetooth capability, and a premium speaker upgrade, all within the factory confines. The car has never been in an accident, and has always been garaged. The exterior is very nice, with only a few blemishes that detract from it being in "like new" condition: The paint is original and glossy, with no fading or peeling clearcoat anywhere. No scuffs or scratches on either of the front/rear bumper covers, and all of the silver mylar trim is clear and bright. The black rubber window trim remains supple and intact. (this always peeled off prematurely on these cars that had extensive sun exposure). There is one bruise just behind the right turn signal lens, and a couple of door dings that I couldn't even photograph. The glass is like new all around; no pits or scratches, including the original Carlite windshield. The interior is also in outstanding condition: No stain, wear, or odd odors on the the seats or door panels. The carpeting is in good condition. (The seats had covers on them from new until recently: From my experience, you can't wear these seats out anyway, so I removed them). There is a small nick in the headliner, which I photographed. I have replacement patch fabric material, which will be included. The padded dash has no cracks, looks new, and is protected by a dashmat cover. The cargo area has no scuffs or wear, looks like it was never used. The retractable cargo cover (usually long gone), rolls backward and forward flawlessly. The spare tire and jack equipment are unused and in place. All of the factory manuals are in the glovebox, and I will include a shop manual with the sale. In general, this car sparkles, and will be a great value for the money. With reasonable care, these cars are capable of 200,000+ miles. I certainly would not hesitate to drive this car cross country. Oh, wait, that is what it HAS been used for during the past two years!I have honestly tried to represent the actual condition of this car. Nothing has been Armoralled, detailed, or flowered up to misrepresent it's condition. (in fact, it was never washed prior to taking photos, and it was slightly grimy at the time). This is a great little car, and I invite you to come see it and decide for yourself. I can also be reached at 303-654-1255 to answer any of your questions.I am an Ebay hobbyist, (not a dealer), paring down a 40 year collection of Ford and Mercury cars and parts.
