Northshoreautos in Sunny Fort Lauderdale is proud to offer this Outstanding Custom Classic to all of our eBay friends in this live auction. This 1951 Mercury "Lead Sled" Hot Rod is truly amazing. This is a fully restored show car that looks fantastic and runs and drives like a dream.
Every square inch of the car has been redone. This 1951 Mercury Coupe was built from the ground up with the kind of care and craftsmanship that only comes from a very personal level. The paint is a "butter" yellow metallic with a classic flame job on the front end - this is VERY high quality paint work. The exterior chrome shines all around. The headlights have been frenched and shaved, nd the door handles have been removed. A working remote entry key fob is included.
The interior of the car looks fresh as well, rom the yellow-painted dash to the two-tone white and yellow seats. Inside, he custom touches have a classic look, s though they could be original parts. The dash appears to be from a 1949 Merc (with a full set of VDO gages). The radio looks to be period-correct as well (but non-functional). Air conditioning has been added, s well as a modern AM/FM/CD player in the glove box (with speakers in the kick panels and overhead). This car also has power windows, hich work from what look like roll-up window levers. There are also some billet aluminum trim pieces, nd the Lokar aluminum shifter is another nice touch. The steering column is from a Corvette.
The Firestone air-ride suspension is a real highlight. It features billet pressure pumps and you can raise or lower the front or rear of the car independently from switches located in the glove box.
