1964 Mercury Montclair
Up for your consideration is a 1964MercuryMontclair, 25th Anniversary Edition. This car wasoriginallypurchased inDecaturGeorgia from Ferrell Lincoln Mercury in February, 1964 and has remained inGeorgiaall of its life according to the previous owner. The car has a 390 engine with automatic transmission and the classic retractable rear window which is fully operational, as you can see from the video. The car is in very good condition for its age as you can hopefully see from the pictures. The interior is clean, the head liner is in great shape and intact, as is the dash. Thecarpetis worn, all the windows work. It is equipped with air conditioning that works. As you can see on the video, theclutchon the compressor engages and disengages. The car always starts and does not leak any oil as it sits in my garage. It has been sitting for some time and could use a tune-up. When it is just idling thecarburetorleaks, I think that the float is sticking, when you accelerate it stops. The only other things that I know are anissueis the drivers door latch sometimes won't latch and the lightswitchseems stuck. I sprayed it withlubricantbut it doesn't want to move.I've tried to take enoughpicturesandvideosso you can see what you are buying. I took the mat out of the trunk so you couldseethere are no holes that need to berepaired. The car is running and is a good candidate for restoration due to its uniqueness. Thanks for looking, if you have any furtherquestions, please feel free to contact me. The car is being sold in "as is" condition but there won't be anysurprises. I am also listing this locally and the reserve the right to remove this listing.I will be glad to meet a shipper with the vehicle but the purchaser must arrange and pay for the shipping.
