1979 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Convertible

The W107 chassis of the Mercedes SL series was Daimler -Benz most popular production design. The 450SL models are taking their place in the long Mercedes-Benz lineage of collector cars that are appreciating in value. The 450SL'sare valuable to collectors since they are far more powerful than later 380SL's. Furthermore, he 1979 Mercedes 4.5 liter V8 was the last year for the time tested indestructible cast iron block engine. The 450SL series are particularly fun to drive. Although of German decent, he 450 SL performs and sounds more like an American muscle car. Accompanied by CIS fuel injection, ydraulic lifters and breaker less BOSCH L-Jetronic electronic ignition make the 450SL very reliable and powerful. SAE horsepower is rated at 180 and torque at 230 lb-ft.

I have been the owner since 2003. All systems work as intended including the AC, ecker Radio and clock. Recent service and maintenance include, ew battery, ew tires and regular oil/filter change. The car is well maintained, uns and drives exceptional.

A complete bare metal paint restoration occurred in 2005 with original and identical Mercedes Benz Glasurit Diamond Blue prime and paint. Always garage kept, he appearance is excellent, o dent, o dings, o rust. The original interior is well preserved in matching blue MB-Tex and real Zabrano (Zebra) wood trim accents. The safety kit, n the cabin storage compartment, etains the original supplies. The Hardtop is in perfect condition. The dark blue soft top is in good overall condition. There is a 1" cut in the side plastic. Not bothersome, have not replaced the original soft top.
