1966 Mercedes-Benz 600-Series

1966 Mercedes 600 SWB Grand 1 of only 273 right hand drive produced it has been parked for the last several years in my garage and has only 63000 miles, have been out of the country so I have only started it once a year pull it out wash it and put it back. I removed all the burlwood 2 years back and got an estimate to have it all refinished and some repaired by Madera concepts in goleta California since I did not want to spend at the time to have them refinish the entire wood,I had them repair a couple pieces that were very bad and I brought all the wood back and it is all in a box ready to go for refinishing. The engine is very good starts up every time instantly and the transmission works fine brakes are a little soft so It is not really drive able but good enough to drive to load on a trailer, ir suspension works good in all positions and level as long as it's running will go down when parked sometimes in a day and sometimes in a week so it may need some attention, he hydraulic system will need work has a leak in the door that works the power seats, windows, trunk and door closers which close but manually, the interior also needs to be restored along with the left front door panel which has fallen apart and needs help, he headliner is good. The body is very straight and does not have any rust issues a couple of spots where paint has cracked and metal has some surface rust on it no weakness or holes, the area below the left rear taillight and chrome is dented the lens is good with no cracks and three minor dings above the right rear wheel. The chrome is good but the door handles and front cowl vent covers have pitting on them on the upper surface. I have just placed the gauges in the dash spot to take pics only the oil pressure gauge is hooked up so I can start and move the car, ll the dash chrome parts are very good and were carefully removed and kept with the necessary hardware in labeled containers,I am missing one wheel cap(right rear). My intentions were to completely restore it but I don't see when I am going to be able to complete it due to time hence I am offering it at auction. If you have any questions please ask by email or you can call me at 8184373783.
