All Original with both Soft Top and Removable Hardtop

This 1970 Mercedes Benz 280SL Roadster is a two-owner classic that was originally purchased in Oklahoma. The first owner moved to California over 37 years ago. After 15 years of storage the current owner took possession and had it professionally serviced at great expense in 2016. He informs us that this beautiful roadster hasn’t seen any changes over the years- it’s been kept completely stock from the gorgeous body lines to the drivetrain to the interior and the factory wheels. Additionally, the chrome and metalwork is near flawless and this is easily the nicest survivor we’ve come across in years. Immaculate would be a word we’d use to describe this classic sports car’s condition. The convertible top looks to be original and in nearly unused or never used excellent condition.

A closer inspection of this 1970 Mercedes Benz 280SL Roadster reveals an incredible attention to detail over the years- the interior seating is virtually flawless. The original factory dash pad was replaced with a MBZ factory replacement. The woodwork was professionally redone at the same time. The original factory instrument cluster is exceptional, as is the carpeting, the factory gear shifter and the door panels. The custom rare Nardi wood grained, polished aluminum steering wheel looks great. The current owner replaced the dash pad and wood trim due to natural aging over the years. There is just the right amount of patina throughout to make this a truly exceptional vehicle and it must be seen in person to truly appreciate. Rarely do examples of this caliber fall beneath the $100k range. This is not a "perfect" trailer queen. It is a great original car, showing some normal patina. Fully restored, low mileage Pagoda's are currently fetching $200.000.- $250,000. which makes this gorgeous 280SL an outstanding value with great investment potential.

Additionally, the engine compartment of this 1970 Mercedes Benz 280SL Roadster shows minimal signs of wear to what appears to the be the original strong running factory drivetrain with almost all the original accessories. The Michelin Radial Whitewall XH tires are in great condition. This one is a true survivor in every sense of the word and it drives beautifully on the open road and truly loves the curves. Good compression, great handling, just a few minor imperfections...it really has it all.
