Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this low mileage 1977 Mercedes Benz 450SL in excellent condition with only 83,440 original miles. It looks spectacular, runs great, and is an awesome driver. The market on the R107 SL is absolutely red hot right now and this example is priced to sell. Very low mileage and original examples of the R107 Mercedes SL are exceptionally difficult to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. The low original mileage is also verified not only by the condition of the car, but also by the clear Ohio title, pictured below, showing the mileage as "Actual."

This Mercedes is verified as "numbers matching" meaning the engine in the car is the correct and original unit that was installed in the factory new. Very importantly this 450SL has the vehicle data card from the Mercedes factory, which is pictured below. It shows the original engine number to be "117985 12 0197092." We have checked the engine and confirmed that same engine number stamped on the left side of the engine block. All of the paint and trim codes are also correct and match the vehicle data card and the data tag by the radiator.

This 450SL comes with both the soft-top and auxiliary hardtop. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Mercedes that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. This Mercedes is finished in the absolutely beautiful and highly desirable color combination of Midnight Blue (904) over Light Tan interior (204) with a Dark Blue soft-top (744). This is one of the best looking R107s on the market right now. This is also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the vehicle data card pictured below. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of clean and nice this 450SL really is.

The car comes with the books and manuals, which are pictured. Included with the car are the original owner's manual, maintenance booklet, emissions system manual, 450SL parts catalog, cruise control info sheet, along with the convertible top wrench, spare tire and rim, and jack, which are all pictured below.

As a side note, this Mercedes is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the 450SL, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Midnight Blue exterior is in excellent driver condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. The chrome and other bright-work look very nice. The chromes wheels are in great shape with no curb rash; they really give this a car a terrific look and go well with the dark blue paint. The Goodyear Eagle tires have plenty of tread left. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. As one would expect from a paintjob with many years on it there are some very small blemishes around that are too tiny so show up in the photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. As one can see in the many photos of the underside, this 450SL is very clean underneath and the car has no rust issues at all. We have also included specific photos of the rockers, lower front and rear quarter panels, and other areas on the car most prone to rust to show how nice it looks.

Interior

The Light Tan interior of the 450SL looks absolutely fantastic. The seats are in "like-new" condition with no tears, rips, or signs of wear. The seat is not worn at all in the typical are on the driver's bolster where the driver gets in and out. The carpet looks good with no stains, rips, or holes. All of the gauges faces are crisp and the lenses are clear. The original door panels look great with no cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The convertible soft-top is in good condition. The rear windows do show a bit of wear as one can see in the photos and there is a hole in the typical area were the plastic window touches the top mechanism. The dash is in nice condition with no sun damage, it does have a couple hairline cracks. This car has never been smoked in; there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever and no burn marks. The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the original spare tire, and rim, jack. This 450SL also has the added benefit of rear jump seats.

The excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this Mercedes has received throughout its life.

Mechanical

This 450SL appears to be in very nice mechanical condition. The engine starts right away every time as one can see in the video. It is an exceptional driver that feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that it runs great, there are no vibrations, and the car performs quite nice overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. The gauge shows that the engine makes great oil pressure. Also, the engine bay is clean, nicely detailed, and correct as one can see from the photos.

Please note in the video that the warning lights work properly. They light up when the key is first turned on and then go off when the engine is started. There are no "check engine" or other warning lights that stay on. The horn works as do all the exterior lights, indicators, and wipers. All of the gauges work and even the clock runs. The fan works on all speeds. The a/c needs a recharge. This Mercedes has plenty of power with the 4.5 liter V8 engine. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1977 450SL is in excellent condition and is a true bargain at our asking price. The beautiful original color combination makes this 450SL particularly desirable and difficult to duplicate. The market on for the R107 body style SL Mercedes is very strong right now. This Mercedes is a great value and will only appreciate over time. Someone could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
