Here is a very clean and all original 1979 Mercedes Benz 300SD. This is an extremely clean classic sedan in all original condition finished in a rare color with factory sunroof. We are offering this vehicle on one of our no reserve auctions and we will sell to the high bidder. Please review the description and feel free to reach out for further information. The current condition of this vehicle makes it a great candidate for preservation in a garage collection or as a classic daily driver that will regularly command attention.
This exterior of this Benz is finished in a rare paint color, best I can tell from older charts is the factory color is Sahara Yellow. The overall condition of the exterior is excellent for the age. There is no evidence of previous paint work and all panels are original; and the entire car looks stunning! Factory alloy wheels with a matching set of new tires! Also available are a set of Ronal Penta "juniors" with near new tires as pictured. I myself much prefer the factory Bundt alloys. Either set of your choice will be included in the auction, if you want both sets we can discuss. All glass, plastics, lenses and trim are in good condition. All handles and latches are in good working order. The exterior is all original and stunning in every way. 100% Rust Free AZ car!
The interior is in great condition as well; finished in brown leather. The leather is in good condition with no rips or tears however there are some minor cracks from age and dryness as shown in the pictures. The drivers upper outer rear bolster shows the most wear from getting in and out. . All other interior materials including door panels, carpet, and other trim panels/pieces are in great condition. The dash board does have about 4 areas that are cracked, however they are covered by a custom fitted cover. All climate control functions are in great working order with air blowing from selected vents. The AC and heat are working as they should. Other factory options including, vacuum locks, power windows, power antenna and Sunroof are all working as designed. The original spare tire is in tact with original tools and jack never used!
Mechanically speaking this vehicle is solid. It has been used regularly and maintained in every way. It starts very easily, idles smooth and does not appear to have any leaks. The transmission is great and shifts just like it should. It drives great with a strong and smooth engine. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this diesel any where! If you know about these engines then you will agree the 261K original miles are actually a good thing; these cars were meant to be driven, and this one has been maintained exactly how it should and is a very pure example of how this car should be. Its very hard to believe the miles, this car appears to be a very very low mile barn find! It has truly been loved and protected over the years.
