This car is finished in DB181 Light Beige paintwork (as per under hood data tag), with contrasting brown leather interior. Fitted with its factory 6.3-liter V8 engine and 4 speed Automatic transmission this car has faired well over the past 48 years and runs very well indeed. The motor is turn key with no smoking, and transmission shifts smooth, just as Mercedes intended.

The car is what I would describe as a “Survivor” and is very honest throughout. The car appears to have received a re-paint in its life and is very presentable in appearance. The interior is original and does show signs of ageing just as you would expect with the cars age. Originality is supported by the presence of its factory glovebox owner’s manual, both Mercedes Benz keys, and also the all important “Becker Grand Prix US 108FM Radio” These radios were a big expense when checking the box at the dealership back in the day in the US.

The hydraulics on the car work well once the car is started with the self-leveling operating after a few seconds. The underside of the car is clean and looks to be as original as could be. I would like to state this car is nearly 50 years old, has been in storage for some time, so please do not expect a new car, just an honest old one. Please note the condition of the doors, and the interior panels, very clean for age. All four electric windows work just as they should, a cared for car this.

The Hagerty value on these 1970 300 SEL’s is an average of $36,800 for a “Fair” car with a concours example hitting just shy of $100K.
