Thank you for looking at our classic 1972 Mercedes 450 SL Convertible. This car has a convertible top in good condition and also a hardtop that's in good condition. I bought this car in early Spring and put it right into the service garage. I spent over $2000 having this car gone through from bumper to bumper. Anything that was weak was replaced. Anything that was bad was definitely replaced, and now it's one smooth running automobile. All options work, including windows, air conditioning and radio. Both tops work correctly and it shifts correctly. The tires were put on about 6 years ago, but they probably only have 50 miles on them. When you look at the tires up close, you can see how new they are. The mechanics went through the car doing a complete tune-up, replacing everything including: alternator, battery, vapor gas tank, fuel pump, wiper motor andsome parts on the front end after inspection, along with a lot of other stuff. They also cleaned out the gas tank and gas line for any sitting debris, and they went through the braking system.

The interior we believe to be all original and in excellent condition for a 47 year old car. The body of the car is just unbelievably clean. This car has only been spray waxed, and never buffed. If you wanted to take the time to buff the car out, it would look much nicer than it does now. The underneath of the car is very solid, and that's part of the reason I bought it. I figured by the time I was done with it, I would really have something, not just some patched up Mercedes someone was trying to sell. The way you see the body of this car is exactly the way I bought it. I have not even touched it up which I normally do with the cars I'm selling. For me it was a rare find.

The miles on the vehicle are exceeded and the title is clean. With a little history on these cars, 1971 was the last year of the older body style. 1972 they came out with this body style and called it the 450 SL. According to what I read online, being that it's a low VIN number, this is one of the cars that came from Germany during the first 6 months of the run. They built the same car for almost 20 years, just modifying the body style a little different in the 80s. If you have the time, run the VIN number online and you can find out a lot more information about these cars. But this car is too old for a CARFAX because its not a 1982 or newer, because 1981 and older they didn't have CARFAX. If you're looking for a classic car to cruise, this Mercedes is definitely a phenomenal car to ride or drive in.
