Description:

1973 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series SE

This Mercedes is a great barn find. The current owner feels that this is a $5500 car with a little work. They want $3500 for it, as is, because it's not perfect. If you want to pay the $3500 please let me know. I can set up the buy it now feature for you. I have been authorized to sell this Mercedes to the highest bidder. I have suggested starting the bidding at $1200 as the owner really wants to find a new owner for this 1973 Mercedes 280se in it's current condition. The engine is worth at least $1600, in my opinion, because it runs good and doesn't smoke. However, that's my opinion. You Mercedes-Benz aficionados know what you want, know your skill set,and also know what it will take to get it where you want it to be. The high bidder gets the car. WHAT WILL THE MARKET PAY? You are the market and youknow what you can afford. Please only bid if you can afford to finish the transaction. It is not a $20,000-$30,000 car at this point. This is a car that you can restoreand enjoy or use it as a parts car.It runs and drives. The engine has ample power and the transmission shifts fine. The brakes work and stop the car as they should. It has been driven locally by me. I would recommend towing it home or to your restoration shop. I can't guarantee it will make a multiple hour trip without a alternator belt, radiator hose, etc. needing to be replaced. It is a rare find that has been sitting for some years. Please come take a look, ask in questions that you have, and see if it is what you want to purchase prior to bidding. The seats are in like new condition. The car comes with two sets of rims and tires. The car comes with extra wood grain interior pieces. The older tires were replaced with a good set. The Bosch battery is brand new. This car has rust in the passenger side floor pan, bottom of the spare tire area, and in the rocker on the passenger side front. The rear passenger side rear door is not opening. This was the 1973 equivalent to today's Mercedes Benz S class. Rare fuel injected V8 car with the sunroof. The sunroofworks. This is a running and driving 1973 Mercedes Benz 280SE. This Mercedes isn't smoking out of the tailpipe when the engine is running. I haven't noticed any oil leaks or other fluid leaks. The title and registration are free and clear. The original Protecto plate is with the car. This is a highly sought after classic Mercedes Benz with the 4.5 V8 engine, sunroof, automatic, air conditioning, and power options. If you have been looking for a worthy one please bid to win as I am interested in finding a new owner for this Mercedes. I have posted photos of the factory correct floor pans that Mercedes will provide and a previously repaired floor to show how well they will restore the floor to original condition. The passenger side is the only side needed for this car. I will help you or your transporter load this Mercedes at pickup. Thanks.
