Up for sale is our 1980 Mercedes Benz SL 450 convertible. Car overall is solid and in excellent shape for the age of the vehicle. This has been a toy for my family used to drive around town and to the beach. Everythibg electrical works as it should except for heat and air. Seats and door pannels have been redone and are in mint condition. Hardtop is fairly new and is in excellent shape no rips or fogging in the back glass. Hard Top included as well and it too is in excellent condition. Tires are matching and have plenty of tread left on them. When I pulled it out for the summer the altenator had to be replaced which has been completed along with a new altenator belt. Lights, urn signals, rake lights, adio, ash gauges and lights all work as they should. Mechanically car runs good. We do not out a lot of miles on the car per year it really needs to be driven more. Could use a basic tune up as it sometimes floods when cranked I am sure from not being driven daily. The body is solid as a rock the rickets, enders, uarters, runk and floor pans are all solid no rust. There is one 50 cent pirce size rust spot on the front passenger side of hood which is pictures. Paint is in above average for it's age appears to be origional but it is not perfect. There are a few dinhs dents and scratches on car but nothi g major and does not justify a paint job at this time unless you want perfect. Automatic.transmission shifts smooth no issues there. Car has a slight vibration at 55mph but goes away at 60mph maybe a tire or alignment issue. Doesn't bother me. Fun car to drive and still a head turner. It passed North Carolina State Inspection last year and now due to it's age required no inspections in NC. Exhaust is complete but could use a new muffler.
The biggest issue with this car is the AC/Heat. The pulley on the AC compressor is bad and the air temp that bloes stays the same no mater what you do. I have been told by a Mercedes Mechanic that's common in thr old SL's and they make a manual bypass kit for the Heat to bypass the automatic climate control whi h goes bad so that you can cut the heat on for about $80 plus installation. As far as AC not sure if compressor is bad or not it's a convertible top.comes down and stays down all summer so I have never looked into getting it working as I would never use it. I have put about 800 miles on it yhis Spring and Summer so far with a minor tune up.plugs etc car would easily be a daily driver.

I need to add Sunvisors are missing hardware is there but visors are not. Also trim piece around the AC controls does not fit good and needs to be reglued in place or replaced. I have done my best to represent the car honestly and fairly its simply a third car summer toy for my family.
