1984 Mercedes-Benz 190-Series 2.3-16v

This is your chance to own a part of Mercedes Benz and automotive history. This car is why BMW built the M3. There were only 20k 16v cars made in the word from 1984 to 1993 and only 2200 made in 1984. Mercedes only sold the 16v in 86 and 87 in the US and sold ZERO in 1984. This car had to be imported by an individual to get here and was imported in 1985.
The good about the car. It runs drives and is complete, I would not take on an extended drive as I have not since I have owned it. It has the higher hp Euro motor. It is lighter than US spec cars since the rear windows are manual. The door panels are in good shape, front electric windows work, sunroof opens and closes. The center console temp gaugeand volt meter work and lap timer works and the display is not bad (which is very rare).All lights work. I have the original owners manual and service books (in German) with delivery stamp signed and dated. Books also have original order sheet.
The bad... It needs a lot of body, paint work and interior work to be perfect. This car was hit in the rear and the work done was not very good and the quarter panels are rusting away at the inner panel. The rockers and drivers floor have rust issues too. Drivers front door check is broken. A previous owner cut out the package tray metal and package tray. The drivers seat leather is in good condition. The other 3 seats need redone and the dash has cracks. I was told the motor recently had a head gasket and valve job completed but have no records to prove it. Will need tires. The car was owned by a MB specialist shop for the last 8+ years. The A/C is inop but all parts are on the car. The rear hydraulic suspension (SLS) is inop.
I do have a 93 190 2.6 rust free parts car that has a crack free dash, rear package tray, nice black carpet and all body panels are original and straight. Depending on final selling price we can negotiate what parts if any you would want. Parts car also has 16"15 hole wheels from a R129 SL500.
