Extended length (long, or "limo" body), perfect for collector/ parts

Price: - Item location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States
Description:

1989 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series SEL

Needs some work but GREAT for COLLECTOR or for parts/ harvest car, especially on East Coast because this car "lived" in CA until 1.5 years ago so no water issues/ problems. Dry! (Sorry it was raining the day I took the pictures, but they came out pretty well.)
The pros:

It's a great car for a collector or even just a carbuff. If you're the type who's into these things, it's no big deal to put a few grand into them to have them running around town. I just haven't recovered from the depression still/ yet and need something simpler.

If you already have one of these that has rust and water issues:

- this car could provide awealthy harvestof parts for you - OR you couldswapyour current car's parts into this one and have a better/ dry body!

- I had the best, most well-known mechanic in the LA area maintaining and working on this baby for me when I lived in CA. Hollywood stars came to him and he had a never ending stream of some of the most beautiful Benzes in the world in his shop every day. It was really something to behold. Anyway, the point is, it was kept well. Even when I began to run out of bucks he made sure no major items were scrimped on.

The cons:

It needs some work: Burns oil, but then they all do at this age. Odometer seems to be broken/ broke recently/ soon after moving it back east; mileage was 265k when it stopped, but haven't driven that much in the year and a half or so since then - historic, etc. I'd be surprised if I put even 6 or 7 k on it in all that time, I've been driving on a limited basis. Needs a motor mount replaced, some paint, etc.
It is a salvage title vehicle, BUT it's not quite what it seems/ a bit unusual situation there:
I had a mild bump into a parking pole because of the setting sun glaring into my eyes leaving a doctor's app't. (Those of you who've lived in Southern CA know just howmuch the sun can "blind" you facing west at rush hour, yes?) It broke the one headlamp casing and bent the fronta little bit.The problem was, I was not familiar with the area (had moved there to work but didn't know a good body shopnear where I lived)so I took it to a place up the street. The guy jerked it all around. He inflated to cost so much to the insurance co. to make some money and that caused them to total it. By the time I realized what was up it was too late. Got a referal from a neighbor when he came back from work and that guy charged less than half what the first jerk had estimated. I bought it back as salvage and got it fixed. There you have it.

SO, THIS IS A GREAT CAR IF YOU WANT/ NEED THIS MODEL ON THE EAST COAST.These things always need something but for the collector or Benz buff, it's just part of the process and this car is a great buy for the right person!
NEED MONEY / MUST SELL ASAP! First best offer or Buy-It-Now takes it! VIN WDBCA25D9KA431093

EVERYONE NOTE (this was supposed to be in the initial description but somehow got missing during a bunch of stuff that went on with technical glitches at ebay (they had some sort of problemson their end that made it hard to get the listing to actually go up, and several people were opening and editing the listng, etc.) THAT THIS IS AN AS-IS SALE. I'm not a dealer or anything like that. I'm just a guy who is selling his car because it's too much for him to keep up because he's not a collectoror specialist or dealer or mechanic, etc. I liked this car because it was so neat, and fun to drive, but my income has lowered and I need a simpler mode of transportation accordingly.
