1978 Mercedes-Benz 400-Series

Beautiful 450SL located here in the San Francisco Bay Area.Insured with Hagerty for $11,000.
Clean title, registration and easily passed smog.The engine runs and sounds wonderful.I am a non-smoker.
$3000 in recent maintenance and repairs including the following new items (all with genuine Mercedes parts): -Spark plugs-Brake pads-Tie rod ends-Battery-Fuel line-Rear torsion bar arms-Fuel pump-Fuel filter-Vacuum lines-Fuel distributor-Engine oil-Differential oil
However there are issues to be aware of as this is still a high mileage and older vehicle.
1. The steering box is functional but is worn and will need to be replaced. It also has a slow leak. The car drives but would not recommend city, highway or aggressive driving until fixed.2. The right tail light is out but works when braking, has a crack One of the fog lights is out. Not sure if if bulb issues or the connection.3.The wipers don't currently work.4. The driver side outer door handle is broke. The inner handle works fine and the door always opens but only from the inside.5. Someone attempted to steal the radio and damaged the housing around the radio. I have the radio but I am not sure if it works.6. I lost the hood removal tool have not checked the soft top.7. The driver side seat is torn.
The paint is original with some touch up areas noted and only a few very minor dings and scratches other than the typical scratches on the back of the trunk where it the hood comes off. I'm not the best detailer and there is some excess rubbing compound on the paint which a good detailer will easily be able to get out.The AC and heater work fine.Included are the uninstalled radio, jack and original brass license plate holder.
Pre-purchase inspections are fine but I am the only one who is insured to drive it.
I've done my best to describe the car but it is sold AS-IS.
