1983 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Base Wagon 4-DoorNo Reserve!
1983 Mercedes Benz 300TD Turbo Diesel Station Wagon!
This was my fathers vehicle, he purchased it from the New England area around 2005-6. Shortly after getting the car he designed and built his own tube in tube waste vegetable oil system (WVO). If you are not familiar with that type of system, you start and run the car on diesel until it is up to temp, usually 10-15 mins until the vegetable oil is up to temp and then you switch over. When you are nearing the end of the trip, switch it back over to diesel let it run for a little bit and that it. At the time had a good source for VIRGIN, expired food grade vegetable oil and that was the only oil ever used in the system. It was probably last ran on vegetable oil in 2008-9 time frame. It was his daily driver for several years until around 2012 when he purchased a truck as it was getting harder for him to get in and out. He used it from time to time until 2015 when he passed away. I want the car to go to someone who will enjoy it as much as he did.
I will attempt to tell you as much as I can about it. If you have questions, please ask. Also please understand that this car has been off the road for almost 2 years now. It still starts right up, even when its cold, it stills moves fine and stops fine. But, please understand I have not driven the car other than down the road in our small town. (35-40mph) Please don't ask if I think it will make a 2,500 mile trip back home for you, I honestly can't answer that. But these cars have the reputationof being reliable and bulletproof.
Car comes with a clear Ohio title in my name from his estate. I have tried to take photos of areas where I can see rust concern. Paint has some clear coat peeling.Trim seems to all be there. Glass is all good. Interior is in relativelygood shape. The piece that is missing above the radio is included with the car.Starts right up even when it is cold,Fuel shut off not working (doesn't shut off with key, need to manually shut off at engine(there is a factory switch in the engine compartment))Spare set of MB wheels, console, misc switches, Head lights, turn signals, etc....
I really feel that I have priced the car fairly. It is not a 10-15k car. Hec, its not a 5k ca, but it is a good running MB 300TD wagon that could use a new home and some attention. These cars last forever and get great fuel mileage. Call or text 614-563-O877, but please no calls after 10pm. Thank you for lucking and good luck with whatever you are looking for...
