1987 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series

Good overall condition. Well cared for, in the family since about 1990. CA car it’s whole life.

Runs cool and smoothly.

Recently rebuilt #22 head.

Drivetrain in very good condition including engine, transmission and differential.

Turbo works well and quietly with no leaks.

Starts immediately, but likes a 17-second warmup for the glow plugs to become fully hot.

Very slight white smoke on startup.

Cruise control works.

Recently replaced head/valve job with #22 redesigned head. Will not crack the way the original equipment heads did

Rebuilt and balanced injectors with MONARK nozzles.

Recently replaced front brakes, calipers and rotors.

New Battery.

Both fuel filters recently changed.

New air filter.

Paint overall still holds good shine. A few parking lot scratches and dings. Small scrape on right rear door/1/4 panel.

One small dent in the right rear quarter panel. Small dent on top of the front hood. Star missing from hood ornament.

No rust or rot except a small spot at the passenger side base of the rear window.

Bumpers OK, but have scratches, etc.

Wheels OK, still shiny, but chrome is fading.

Good tread all tires

Windshield wipers/washer all work.

Chrome all good.

Lights & blinkers all good.

Horn good.

Rubber all good.

Interior in good condition, no open cracks in seats, headliner or dashboard. Some scuffs on rear seat.

Headliner excellent.

Interior lights all work.

All wood in good condition, with moderate cracking of the center console wood.

Steering wheel motor adjustment works.

Gauges & speedo, odometer all work.

Clock works, recently repaired.

Radio (aftermarket) works. Speakers all good.

Power windows all OK except for drivers window.

Right power mirror works. Left mirror is manual.

Door lock vacuum system works on all doors, trunk and gas tank.

Sunroof works, no leaks in rain.

Small white bleached/stain on left rear carpet.

Could use a good cleaning/conditioning.

Engine runs smoothly and well, but doesn’t have as much power as when new.

Driver’s seat sags/springs loose or broken. Some staining of the leather.

Ignition/key assembly was replaced, so the ignition key is different from the door lock key.

Radio Antenna motor doesn’t work, antenna stays up.

ABS brake pump defective, ABS doesn’t work. ABS warning light stays on. Brake system otherwise in very good condition.

Coolant level light stays on, even though coolant level is correct.

Oil level light stays on, even though oil level is correct.

Trip Odometer does not work.

Coolant Temp gauge works but is off alignment and reads COOLER than the engine really is. When the engine is at operating temp (+- 80c), the gauge reads 40c., so you have to read it right.

HVAC blower went bad and is removed. Replacement blower included.

HVAC controller probably is bad.

Driver’s window motor needs to be replaced; window doesn’t go up/down.

Was hit on the passenger rear door & repaired, but black paint on the repair is not great; it’s not polished or clear-coated. Right Rear door trim is mismatched.

Left front tire has a slow leak, needs air every week or so.

Emergency brake pedal light stays on until you manually pull back the emergency brake pedal slightly. Emergency brake function not affected by this, it applies and releases fine. It’s just a pedal/switch/sensor issue.
