This stunning car is the definition of mid 80s class. Walking around this vehicle you can really see the German engineering through out all the body lines and style. This particular one even comes with a soft and Hard top with Roller storage system. Which is seemingly becoming more rare to find. From the outside of this amazing car we go to the leather interior and full functioning dash and you can tell its been well taken care of. This 1983 Mercedes 380SL is equipped with AM/FM Radio CD Player Convertible Top Cruise Control Power Breaks Power Steering Power Seats Power Windows Anti-Lock Breaks Tilt Wheel Seat Belts Drivers Interior Radial Tires and Aluminum/chrome Rims
The 3.8 liter SOHC V8 under the hood feels quite energetic around town and as a German-bred 2-seater, obviously it was built for high-speed cruising, so it's effortless in almost everything it does. With only 105,000 miles on it, this one is barely broken in, so it starts quickly, idles smoothly,. The engine bay is completely original and stock, with the exception of normal maintenance items, but they were careful to retain things like the original hose clamps whenever something was replaced. Factory finishes, decals, and markings all remain 100% intact and it all works like it should.
The 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission was a relatively recent addition to the spec sheet when this SL were built, but it gives this convertible impossibly long legs when combined with the 2.65 rear gears. At speed on the highway, the engine just loafs along at about 1200 RPM, barely whispering and pulling down surprisingly good fuel economy at the same time.
Car is being sold AS IS with NO Warranty.
