When it was introduced in 1963, he Mercedes-Benz 230SL two-seater marked a huge improvement over the outgoing 190SL roadster. For one thing, t boasted a 150 hp six-cylinder engine, nstead of the 190’s four-cylinder. Surrounding that was a crisp, ngular design, ith an unusual concave hardtop roof that led to the sobriquet “Pagoda Top,” by which the model has since been known.

This 230SL was purchased in 2004 by the current owner. From 2004-2010 the car was under extensive restoration. The mechanical restoration was performed by Dan Caron (President of SL Barn) The engine was completely rebuilt and detailed. This 230SL was fitted with new Bosch Mechanical Fuel Injectors, uel Pump, lutch, ressure Plate, aster and Slave Cylinder. The four speed manual trasnmission was rebuilt by Dan Caron as well. GAHH German Canvas Soft Top was fitted to meet the quality of the original OEM Soft Top. Hertiage Restorations supplied the new Walnut Wood trim for the interior.
