Description:

1981 Mazda RX-7 GS

This auction is for a 1981 Mazda RX7. I purchased it from the original owner and this is a very nice, original first generation RX7. It is very difficult to find an original first gen that hasn't been modified, rusted or wrecked. This survivor is in wonderful condition with it's original engine and factory equipment. This Mazda runs very well with no smoke or issues. The transmission works very well.Everything works(lights, radio, blinkers, etc) except the power antenna. The brakes and steering are all excellent. The rotary engine is super smooth and happily pulls to redline.Recent work includes a new California legal catalytic convertor, new carburetor, hatch struts, full service, etc. The options include AC, both removable factory tops, manuals, records, original Mazda key fob, factory bra,2 sunroofs glass and original Paint, storage bag, etc. As evident in the photos, this RX7 is very clean and the underhood area looks factory fresh. The interior is also excellent with a zero crack dash, nice seats, carpet, headliner, door panels and storage bin area. The body is damage and rust free with original red paint. Factory alloys and good tires. In short, this is a very difficult to find survivor RX7. Of course, as it's a 35 year old car, it's not perfect. There are a few scuffs, dings and flaws in the paint and the AC needs a new blower motor(per original owner). That's about it.This sportscar represents a great opportunity to get involved with the expanding Japanese collector car market at a reasonable price. This is a car you can immediately enjoy and take to Cars & Coffee and local shows. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
