1984 Mazda RX-7

1984 Mazda RX-7 1st Generation

I have owned this car since Sept 1985. Purchase in home state of Kentucky. Moved to Mobile, AL. in Oct. 1985. Car has been well taken care of. The car has spent the last 20 years sitting under that carport. I try to drive it around the block once a month but it needs someone that has time to care for it and drive it. I own 4 different cars, so I just don’t have time to drive it. I probably should have let someone enjoy long ago, but for sentimental reasons I just kept it & still love the car. I customized it with a down to bare metal new black gloss paint back in 2005, removed all emblems and filled in the holes (no outside emblems). It has a mirror see yourself in the paint shine when waxed.

I had an opportunity to get one of the last crate motors available from Japan back in early 2000’s so the motor only has 14k miles on it. I changed it out at 113k, wasn’t anything wrong with other motor, just liked the rotary rx7s and seemed like the thing to do at the time since I really never ever planned on selling it. Car has Custom Rims as seen in pictures.

The same Certified RX7 Specialist Mechanic has worked on it for the last 25+ years. You are welcome to talk to him about the car. He has a couple 2nd Gen RX7’s & he will check out my car 1 more time before it goes to its new home. I can tell you more if interested. I’m not a mechanic, so I may not be able to answer some questions. I think we put new headers on the new motor for better motor efficiency. Car has never been raced or red lined. I always put premium gas in all my cars. Any records I have you are welcome to them. AC hose has a leak soFreonleaked out, you will need to fix that for AC. New front windshield. I didn't put the trim back on itbecauseI had planned on repainting the trim. There is a non factory stereo in it with a amp under passenger seat, but I never played it. It needs to be checked or replaced. I start the car but rarely drive it, maybe around corner or in parking lot. I haven't registered it in last 2-3 yearsbecauseI just don'thave time to drive it, but it runs and drives great. Solid drive train. No issues with motor or transmission. I just don't have the time it deserves. I give full disclosure onthe car.

Interior is still original gray cloth. No rips in seats, good shape. I would prefer this car be purchased by someone who will care for it and can appreciate the classic. The car seems to get alot of attention on the road. Young guys & girls seem to like the car a lot. Don’t buy it if you are going to race it and tear it up. I didn’t preserve it for 30 years to end up trashed. It’s not about the money, it’s about finding the right owner for this car. Its mechanically sound, couple nicks on the paint, motor is not detailed out. Car is nice, but not perfect and sold as is, Please ask questions, glad to answer question over the phone & again you can talk to the guy that worked on it for over 2 decades & knows RX7’s & Rotary Motors.

Note: I am out of town for about 8 days. Car can not ship until I get back.
