1979 Mazda RX-7

I found this car in a barn after the original owner saw me driving an Rx-7 at a car show. He made arrangements for me to view it, and I bought it immediately. This is one of the rarest colors that was offered in 1979. The paint was badly faded, and the interior was covered in dust. It also didnt run due to bad gas, and a dead battery. I rebuilt the carburetor, added new radiator hoses, new belts, and rebuilt the 'rats nest' (The vacuum manifold that runs all the accessories.) The oil, and all filters were changed, as well as the coolant. The car also has an electronic ignition, it received a new cap, rotor button, plug wires and plugs. I do have a points distributor that can go with the car in the interest of originality. The car was detailed to an incredibly high standard, years of built up wax in crevices has been removed, all the trim, tail lights, and marker lenses were removed to polish under every surface. This gives the car a very wet look. From being stored in a barn the car has zero rust, the original owner never drove it in Ohio winters, so it is in incredibly good condition. The only paint flaws are due to paint touch ups in the early 1980's, and they arent even very noticeable.
Drives beautifully for a 1979. Paint is original, slight fading in some spots, not noticeable unless you know where to look. All faded areas are pictured (You cant pick up on it unless you are in person), some paint chipping on rear rockers. Car is entirely original aside from an exhaust adapted from a newer Rx-7 due to the original failing. Passenger mirror was added by the dealer shortly after the car was purchased. Bottom portion of the drivers seat has some tearing. Aftermarket cassette deck was also installed sometime in the 1980's. Window sticker and lots of original documentation is present. Carpet in the hatch has seen better days.
Car does smoke on cold starts, the longer it sits the worse the smoke is. It goes away once the car is warmed up. Or adding Lucas oil stabilizer, and changing the oil frequently completely eliminates this problem. It will need oil control rings in the future, but as long as it is started regularly, this isnt too big of a problem. Brakes are also a little soft, but it never bothered me enough to mess with them.
I have done my best to represent the car, it is being sold as-is, I just hope whoever buys it finishes its restoration. I have never taken it further than an hour away, I would recommend towing for any distance further than that. It is a car that sat for over 10 years, so please take that into consideration.
