The Classic Car Gallery is proud to present this amazing and interesting Lotus 11 Replica built by Kokopellis. The Kokopellis was designed to have all of the beauty and characteristics of the original Lotus 11 sports racer of the 1950’s, hile taking advantage of modern technology, eliability and handling. This car is great for street or track and has 5-point harnesses and a full roll cage. We purchased this car from Tom Rogers in 2013. Rogers was the owner and manufacturer of Kokopellis automobiles; this car was his personal car and used by him as a rolling example of his work. She was built using the 1800cc 140 hp Mazda Miata engine coupled to a Miata 5-speed transmission. The Chassis was made by Rogers and the suspension and brakes are from a 1970 MGB. The car is registered as a 1970 MG, nd has a CLEAR CONNECTICUT Registration. To my knowledge, ix other cars have been built, dditional details of the Kokopellis cars can be seen on the following website: www.kokopelliauto.com. The car is in good used condition; is fuel injected, tarts and runs beautifully with good oil pressure and constant cool temp. The car has modern touches such as electric fans, emote oil cooler and filter, nd adjustable clutch/brake pedal assembly. She is always a show favorite and an attraction to women, hildren, nd car buffs! Whether on the road or parked you can expect a crowd to gather and lots of photographs to be taken. Saying the car has been a BLAST to drive and OWN would be an understatement. She goes, tops and handles great; she is a joy to ride. She handles like a go-kart with neutral feel and good power and road holding!!! There are now five of these cars out there and a sixth is being built in Florida. The Kokopelli is about 20% larger than the original Lotus 11 and is a lot more user friendly and spacious. Full Classic electric instruments, our trailing arm watts link coil-over rear suspension with Carrera QA1 adjustable coil over shocks and disk front with drum rear brakes makes it very civilized. An MGB front suspension with anti-roll bar completes the suspension. The chassis is overbuilt, nd uses a very substantial tubular steel chassis with water jet cut aluminum panels throughout. The wheels are spoked and in excellent condition. As would be expected, he performance is very dynamic; imagine a MIATA with 800lb less weight. She is fast and maneuverable as would be expected of a car weighing approx. 1450 lb and 140 HP; she is lightweight and well balanced. The car has lightweight vintage handling characteristics but with more power, rip and reliability as would be expected out of a modern re-engineered vehicle. My 18 year old son has autocrossed the car at Lime Rock Park, t and other local events and done well. She has no major issues; The electric speedometer is not that accurate all other systems work as they should. The body looks good and polishes up well, ut there is stress cracking on the fiberglass by the hinges on the front bonnet. The right front plexiglass headlight cover is cracked (new covers are available). The laser cut aluminum bulkheads and dash are in good condition and polishes up nicely. The car recently received new front brake pads, luid change (oil, rans, ifferential, rakes), nd a valve cover gasket. In addition, he has new tires with less than 1000 miles on them. As stated above, he car is fully street legal, as lights, rake lights, orn and 5-point seat belts, nd is sold with a clean Connecticut Registration. Please check with your local Department of Motor Vehicles for compliance in your state before bidding. This car is in great condition, rive her to the track and race, hen drive her home!!!
