1967 Lotus 7 Lynx; Road legal race Car. (wiki Lotus 7 Lynx)
These are a factory built "kit" / Race car this being only one of only 100 built. In its 50 years on the road it has had many transformations, the last was having an ex Steelbro Nissan A14 Race (Track day) engine Twin Delorto side draghts, Cam, Extractors etc and a "short-shift" 5 speed fitted after an original Steelbro crashed racing (legally!).It has front disc brakes and drum rear. it has (as of 4 -March-19) a new WOF Warrent of fitness (Road worthy Cert) and is driven daily by myself just for the hell of it . The mechanical's are in great condition excellent cyl compression's, oil pressure etc the engine having been rebuilt bored and stroked to just over 1500cc is very reliable.., the electrics not so!The electrics are a combination of 50 years of "patch and mend", however everything still works..(just). Some of the wiring looks to be ex "Refrigerator" However,This is a very simple car so I would advise a complete re-wire for reliability at least. The dashboard needs to be re-built, the previous owner who this was repo'd from made a mess out of it, its all there but looks ugly and cheap. The chassis is solid, there is absolutely no rust whatsoever. It is / feels seriously fast and will "peal out" in 3rd no problem, remember this isnt a V8 its a 50 year old 4cyl British sports car! however it has absolutely no problem running with the big V8's and sounds even better. It drives hard and sits on the road although at around 120 it gets a bit "nervous" and twitchy but keep you foot down it comes right. the front suspension is a bit soft and the rear a bit "equinine" (horse and cart) Its a it of a mission just getting into it (im 6'3 and 105kg) but with the quick release steering wheel it becomes quite easy. This is a car that is all there but just needs some love and if you want to be a bit "different" maybe this is you.
