This car was ordered in early March of 1978, and was paid for in CASH! It was special ordered with EVERY SINGLE AVAILABLE OPTION, by the original owner, who was an elderly lady back in 1978. It was ordered with the largest moonroof ever put in a luxury car, at the cost of $1256 back in 1978! The car was well cared for and truly loved. The "owner-installed" light blue seat protector and arm rest/door pull towels were put in place on DAY 1. They have been in the car from the very first day. Introduced to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Ford Motor Company, the Continental Mark V Diamond Jubilee Edition was a very special edition. Helping justify this price premium, the Diamond Jubilee Edition included normally extra-cost packages such as the appearance protection group, interior light group, headlamp convenience group, power lock convenience group, defroster group, and illuminated entry system. Other standard conveniences included dual power mirrors, dual 6-way power front seats with power driver's lumbar support, power vent windows, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an AM/FM stereo with Quadrasonic 8-track system. "There were 5,159 Jubilee's made, 2,602 in Diamond Blue and only 1,511 with the optional moonroof like this one. Although this car came loaded with standard features not seen on other cars, like the console umbrella; leather bound owner's manual and matching tool kit; leather dashboard and all leather or ebony woodtone accents, this car has options like the the astro moonroof; the CB and matching chrome CB radio antenna; the full size dual stripe spare.
