Description:

1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III

Stored for about 25 years, I purchased it with the intention of keeping it as a daily driver, but we are now downsizing and it must go.Repainted in its original color sometime back, the body and paint are in immaculate condition. There is no body damage, rust or a single scratch anywhere. The trunk lid near the keyhole has a few nearly unnoticeable bubbles. Otherwise it is as perfect as you can get.The car was given the Ziebart treatment when new, and the undercarriage is in excellent condition. All body seams show no sign of rust, including the trunk, floor pans, etc. Minimal surface pitting in the suspension and frame.Originally equipped with antilock brakes and cruise control, both have been removed for safety and reliability reasons, the original components are included.A/C complete, but has a leak at the upper condenser pipe, so it won't hold a charge. All other components, including the compressor have been tested and cleaned. THE COMPRESSOR HAS NO OIL, to allow the new buyer to use the refrigerant type of his/her choice. There is a small crack on the top of the dash and one of the mufflers has a crease. Please see the photos. The air pump and piping was not there when I got it, so they are not included. The original fuel tank charcoal canister has been removed and the line plugged. It is included.Interior in excellent shape. No tears, creases, cracks, signs of wear, etc. The clock runs, but for some reason the time cannot be adjusted. The original radio works, but has been disconnected. In its place there is a modern touch screen AM/FM Stereo/CD/DVD (yes, you can watch movies while you drive if you want????). It also has NAVIGATION, and most importantly a rear view camera activated automatically when the car is placed in reverse. If ever a car needed that feature, this is the one!!!. Four new modern speakers in the original locations. All power windows work, but rather sluggish. The motors and mechanisms are OK, (They go up and down quickly with 12V applied directly to the motors), so the problem is in the switches themselves which need cleaning up. Power antenna works fine.Since the A/C is not working, I can't test the automatic temperature control, but the fan runs fine and the air doors seem to work OK.Four new tires, new front brake hoses, fuel sending unit, fuel pump and filter and whatever else I forgot.Engine in as perfect mechanical shape as you can expect. Here are the compression readings for cylinder 1 to 8: 185, 180, 190, 180, 190, 185, 185, 185. New synthetic oil and filter.Transmission was flushed and new oil installed. I intended to change the oil again soon, so the original filter and gasket are there. A new filter and gasket are included.Original trunk liner in immaculate condition. All original tools included.Vinyl top must have been replaced, but I can't be sure. It looks perfect, but the silicone seal at the windshield is not quite factory quality. (That's why I think it was replaced)Power steering pump whines a little when cold, but quiets down as it warms up. Hydraulic wipers fork fine.I have tried to describe the condition of the car with emphasis on the flaws rather than making exaggerated claims. Overall the car runs as it should and given the low mileage it should last for a long, long time.Available for inspection just about any day/time. I have a lift at home and you can inspect at your leisure. Car is located in Williamstown, NJ.Thank you for looking and good luck.
