A solid, straight example purchased on June 25 1966 from "Absey Motors Inc." of Grand Forks, N.D. by the J. Anderson family also of Grand Forks. (original purchase / dealer documentation,"Protect- o- Plate, owners manual, receipts,build sheet, orig.registration cards)

** 1966 Continental model information :

Every 1966 Lincoln Continental was designed to be a safer, more economical and enjoyable automobile. Protective items included front and rear seat belts, padded instrument panel and sun visors, deep-dish steering wheel, safety door latches, backup lights and much more. With safety features also came a new design. The front end styling include a new hood design and a new horizontal bar grille with parking and turn signal lights mounted in the bumper. The clean design carries over into the rear with taillights, back up lights and turn signals all incorporated in the rear bumper.

Offered again was the 4-door sedan and convertible but now a 2-door hardtop coupe was added to the line up. Vinyl roof colors were available in black, white and ivy gold while Convertible top colors came in black, white or blue.

The new, smoother Twin-range Turbo-drive Automatic transmission had a 3-speed planetary gear set with a 6-position selector dial. A new 462 cu. in. V8 engine was also std. with an advertised horsepower of 340 at 460 r.p.m and 485 lb-ft of torque at 2800 r.p.m.
