A beautiful and low-mileage 2-door Range Rover Classic, this example has covered just 96,000 miles from new and looks it. The Chamonix White bodywork (a softer, almost "Old English White" color) is straight and the paintwork is in excellent condition throughout with no dents or other damage. Panel gaps are excellent and all doors open and close with the refinement you would expect of an RRC in good condition and all locks and latches work as intended. The original grey 3-spoke alloy wheels are shod with oversized off road tires in 235/85R-16 size which, when combined with a full Koni suspension and 2.5cm lift, give the vehicle the rugged, chunky look reflective of its massively capable off road abilities.

The interior, always in excellent condition, has been freshly reupholstered in a combination of tan and "Safari" stripe cloth that has a wonderful period-correct appeal and perfectly suits the chocolate brown dashboard and center console. The dashboard is tight and free from squeaks or rattles, the center console is in good condition, and the original carpets and door panels present very well, reflective of the low mileage and careful use. A brand new headliner in light cream has also been fitted.

There is no rust anywhere.The chassis is entirely rust free and impeccably clean.

From every angle, it looks like a properly kept, well maintained and low-mileage RRC in the rare and highly collectible 2-door body style, and wearing a very appealing color combination. It needs nothing cosmetically.


With refinement far in excess of a contemporary Defender, yet with off-road capability every bit as astonishing, it's pretty hard to fault a proper Range Rover Classic. The 2.5L VM Turbodiesel fires instantly with no warming of the glow plugs required and idles smoothly and quietly with no smoke or undue clatter. The 5-speed manual transmission is slick and direct, and the clutch takeup is progressive and firm, so driving is thoroughly modern and refined in all ways. The engine makes excellent torque and good power throughout the RPM range, allowing swift and efficient progress on all types of roads. Highway travel at modern speeds is not an issue, although the currently fitted off road tires have an aggressive tread pattern that creates typical tire noise at speed. (Fitting passenger tires would eliminate this noise, albeit at the obvious expense of some capability in mud and other bad surfaces.)

The recently-fitted Koni suspension gives slightly more ground clearance than stock and much better off road performance, but is as compliant and comfortable on the highway as the stock pieces and is wonderful for everyday use. The steering and brakes are perfect and it drives exactly as you would expect of a vehicle of this type. Quiet, comfortable, refined and capable.

All lights and gauges work correctly, and with a more spartan specification, with crank windows and few added frills, this Range Rover Classic is in a specification that makes it as reliable as easy to maintain as any contemporary vehicle, and needs absolutely nothing for whatever type of use you choose to put it to.
