1975 Land Rover Defender Santana 88 (Series III)

1975 Land Rover Santana 88 (Series III)
ACTUAL VIN# E57500906
Fresh Sand (dark tan) paint with Limestone tropical roof and wheels, and restored black interior with updated seats. 2.25L diesel engine and four-speed manual transmission. This is a beautifully restored Series III diesel 88 which is mechanically perfect, freshy serviced, and ready to use every day. It has recently received a new exhaust, new dampers, new brakes, new glow plugs, as well as an oil and filter change and servicing of all the other fluids.
Bodywork is straight and free of damage, and the recent paintwork has been done to a high standard, with no filler and extremely straight panels. The interior has also been restored, using the "deluxe" seat kits from John Craddock Ltd. in England. The original folding rear jump seats are still in place and in fine condition, and the original headliner and door panels have been beautifully kept and show no damage. There is no rust anywhere. Not in the floors, not in the bottoms of the doors, and not in the bulkheads.
The chassis is entirely rust free and impeccably clean. This is as straight and rust free an 88 as you will find.
Even when cold, the 2.25L diesel engine fires after a few seconds of letting the glow plugs warm, and idles smoothly with no undue noise. Clutch is strong and the gearbox is crisp and engagement is positive, just as it should be. Steering is tight and the brakes are strong. In all ways, this 88 starts, runs and drives like a properly cared for 88 should start, run and drive. It needs nothing and can be used daily without concern.
The "tropical" roof is body color on the lower section and Limestone on the top, matching the color of the wheels. As with all "Series" Land Rovers, the upper bodywork can be removed, allowing the truck to be used fully open when desired.
In short, this is a beautiful, rust-free, and mechanically excellent 88 that has been restored to a high standard, can be used immediately and driven as it was intended to be driven.
I am an American, living in Spain, and I export vehicles to the USA regularly. Although shipping costs are not included in the price of the sale, I have contacts with an established worldwide shipper and will work directly with the buyer to arrange delivery to the USA. I will drop the vehicle off at the port of Valencia for you at no additional cost, help you prepare all the proper documentation for shipping to the USA, and assist with US customs and importation on the USA side.
If you would like me to handle the shipping, customs paperwork, and everything for you, I can offer a flat-rate of $1900, port-to-port, to your choice of Baltimore, MD, Jacksonville, FL or Freeport (Galveston), TX.
Once the vehicle is in your possession, you will also have all the documents you need to register the car in any of 49 states. (California excepted.) I can even arrange transportation within the USA, from the port to your driveway. In short, I am here to help with every step of the process of delivering this vehicle to you.
You are, of course, welcome to fly here and test the car for yourself before you bid, but if that is not feasible, I will be happy to take additional photos, videos, etc. and send them to you. Whatever you need. We can speak on the telephone, or by Skype, so you can see the vehicle in real time before you bid.
If you have any questions, please ask and I will post as many answers here as possible.
