1963 Land Rover Series 88 Station Wagon

Price: - Item location: Morrisville, North Carolina, United States
Description:

1963 Land Rover Defender

Vehicle is operational but needs a little work. It was owned by a Rover lover but had been sitting for a few years on the family property. It transitioned through that family before I purchased it as a rescue to get it back on the road. It starts and moves under its own power with no issues, but I have not driven it other than loading, unloading and around the parking lot.

Some of its features:

Fairy overdrive

Galvanized frame with the removable cross member below the gearbox.

Roof rack and ladder

New exhaust system including the manifold

Rear swing door is installed. Also comes with upper and lower tailgate (see pictures). The tailgate is functional although it has had a full life, the upper tailgate does not have the struts to hold it open.

Both windshield wiper motors have been rebuilt internally and both have new arms and blades

New Lucas alternator, new carburetor, new ignition coil, new battery

Square style front apron

Front Bumperettes

The interior upholstery is green as shown in the pictures

Kodiak Mark IV heater

Has been converted to negative ground

Items I know need to be fixed:

Battery hold down and J hooks are missing

Windscreen vent hoses need to be replaced

Electrics need to be gone through, I have not checked every light or switch

The tires will get you around a parking lot for loading and unloading, they have held pressure for months, but you should not expect to drive it on the road with these tires.

Sold as-is, where is, as you see in the pictures. Body has dents and dings as shown in the photos. Pictures were taken January, 2017. Vehicle is located in Durham, NC. Vehicle is registered in Maine where I purchased it.
