Description:

1989 Land Rover Range Rover

1989 Range Rover Classic

All original, No RUST!! Interior is in great shape. I’m the 2nd owner, bought out of San Jose on consignment on 4/15/11. Original owner bought new at British Motors in San Jose. Original license plate and dealer plate on the car. It took me 7 months to find one this complete. Have owned for over 5 years. We are moving to Ohio and would like to see this go to another Range Rover Classic enthusiast. The rover has spent its whole time in the Southwest. Always garaged (entire life) and driven very few miles. Original owner’s manual with original key. 145,687 miles. It does qualify for Hagerty classic car insurance, which I have now.

If you are new to Range Rovers check out www.rangerovers.net/modelspecs/1989.html
This will provide you with complete model year specifics. 1989 is a good year as it has the larger 3.9 engine without the ABS electrics. 1989 was the last year before ABS was introduced.
All electrics work except for cruise control. A new clock spring is needed for cruise control to work.
Work Done:
Radiator was replaced with a low mileage D1 radiator along with the top radiator hose. Front hubs have been rebuilt by British Car Service in Sacramento. Most of the work was done at British Car Service. They specialize in classic British vehicles and did excellent work. In August, Front swivel ball seals were replaced along with front brake pads & rotors.
When the truck was purchased, the heater core was by-passed. I replaced the heater core and the heater works great. Every Range Rover Classic owner should experience replacing the heater core to gain an appreciation for the vehicle, took me about 2 weekends.
AC was working great, but the AC clutch went out this summer. It will need a new AC clutch for the AC to work. The fan blower works fine.
Additional work done:
Transmission fluid, transfer case fluid, front and rear diff fluid, and fuel filter were replaced in 2012.
Rear exhaust was replaced in 2013.
New Tires in 2015. Cooper Discovery AT. Similar to original size from 1989. 40,000 mile tire. Driven less than 1500 miles.
New timing, cap & rotor, timing cover gasket and seals in 2015.
Bosch plugs and wires in 2013.
Yearly oil changes with Castrol GTX 20w-50.
Cabin Air Filters in 2012.
New wipers in 2013.
6 Pioneer Speaker, replaced aged factory speakers in 2013. Factory radio is still in vehicle. Radio code is written in the owner’s manual
Interstate Battery in 2015.
Motor mounts in 2011.
Addition items to note: It does need a new headliner. From the pictures, you can see that there is a dent in the right rear. My wife nudged me in the driveway. I am including parts to fix the paneling. It was a project that I never got to doing. Included in the sale is corner panel, light, side quarter panel, brand new bumper and new complete side rubber strips for the whole vehicle. The bumper and rubber strips are brand new imported from England. They are shown in the pictures (dropbox).
Also included as extra partsare 4 new police edition springs from England (These provide a slight lift and increase spring rates), new Lucas coil (still in Box, from England), new tensioner pulley (still in box), new Land Rover OEM factory mud flaps, and a box of additional miscellaneous parts.
I have tried to include as much information as possible, this is a nice rust free classic and very complete.

I am also including a Land Rover OEM Range Rover 1986-1994 Parts Catalogue (these are getting harder to find) and a Land Rover OEM Range Rover 1990-1994 Workshop manual.

Please message me if there are any questions. Delivery to Ohio can be arrange.
