Description:

1976 Land Rover Defender

This is a an ex-British Ministry of Defense (MOD) Land Rover. A beautiful girl, she will turn heads and get a few hollers. Right-hand drive. Great for taking around town, in the woods, or around the lake. Kids and dogs love it. Prior owner made a number of improvements, listed below, which make you wonder if it was modified by Q himself.

I am going to warn you: you’re going to get some hop-ons.

Specifics:

  • Wheel base: 109 inches
  • 3” lift and sits on parabolic leaf springs
  • Rock sliders and reinforced gas tank plates
  • The 2.25 engine has been replaced by a 3.5 V8 Auto gearbox and transfer case from a 1988 EFI RRC.
  • 90% of the wiring loom has been replaced.
  • The interior has been modified to accept the larger bell housing, automatic gearbox lever and diff lock.
  • She runs on two 12 Volt batteries tapped to give 24V for most of the electrics and 12 Volt for the engine. The two batteries are balanced through an 80 amp batter equalizer.
  • She has a CB radio.
  • The front grill has been brought forward by 5" to allow for the longer engine.
  • The standard fan has been replaced by an electric fan running off the engine coolant sensor.
  • The transmission has an after market cooler. The fuel pump is a high performance unit, mounted on the inside of the rear fender for easy access.
  • The oil filter has been remotely mounted for easy access.
  • There is ahidden rear view camera for use when the fabric covers are lowered.
  • She has a 9000 lbs Warn winch fitting to the front. There are two gas tanks under the driver and passenger seats. The engine draws from the left tank only and the right tank can be electrically pumped over to the left tank as required.
