1979 Land Rover Series 3 Defender 109 (LWB) Safari Wagon
Unlike most of the east coast lemons on ebay this is a freshly imported (legally) with original chassis and matching engine numbers
2.25 4 cylinder 5 main bearing gas.Weber Carb.4 speed stick with 4 wheel drive and Selectro free wheeling hubs.Deluxe hood with spare carriers on hood and back door.
Starts on the button every time. Drives, tops and 4 wheel drives works as it should.Nice original patina apart from front door tops.
This is the rare 12 seat safari with the even rarer tropical roof and roof vents.
Chassis and bulkhead solid apart from 1 outrigger and shock mount. I have the parts and they are included in the sale. it has a newer rear cross member.
This vehicle will need work on the door frames, assenger front passenger door hinge/mirror mounts again I have the parts and they are included in the sale.
The window rubbers/scrapers are all original and perished. body panels including door skins are aluminum so no cancer. clutch master or slave cylinder will need a refurb as its letting air in or fluid out as you have to pump up the clutch to engage gears on start up.
Yes the doors, oor tops, oof all come off and the windshield folds flat if that's your sort of thing.
All in all a very nice original Safari that has not been messed about with or modified. good running restoration for the land rover enthusiast that appreciates originality.

All pictures were taken in the last 2 weeks also the following work was carried out during this time. New drivers windshiel, oil bath was cleaned and changed. Engine oil and filter changed. New spark plugs. All brakes checked. Tires replaced with with part worms due to rot 70% tread. Rims were cleaned and painted. All Customs and border protection importation documents including the EPA exception are in my name. I owned this vehicle in the UK so the V5 (UK) title is also in my name. There is no bill of sale because of this.
