1987 Land Rover Defender1987 Land Rover 109 Santana - Turbodiesel / 5-speed
From Jaen, pain. Limestone-colored, ine-seater Series-III. 2.25L Turbo Diesel mated to a four-speed transmission. Truck has dual fuel tanks from the manufacturer. About 95,000 original miles. The interior has cloth seats in the first two rows, ith vinyl jump seats in the rear. The turbo adds a nice little extra pop to the truck. The exterior is unrestored and up close shows it's age. Sections, uch as the tailgate, ave been repainted quickly. It wears a full roof rack with an access ladder in the rear. Another great candidate for a driving restoration or trail truck.
Note on the VIN: This truck was imported from Spain, nd as such the VIN# does not register in eBay's system. The 17 digit VIN# is VSELBCMG2AZ101304. The truck conveys with a clear Virginia title, nd will present no registration or insurance challenges.
1987 Land Rover 109 Santana Turbo
- 2.25L 4-Cylinder Turbo Diesel
- 5-spd manual transmission
- 4-door truck, eats 9 (2, )
- Clear CBP, OT, nd EPA paperwork conveys
- Located in Richmond, A (Japanese Classics, LC)
Interior:The front and middle row seats are fabric, ith a few small tears as pictured. The rear vinyl seats are intact and swing freely, dding another 4 seats to the rear. Has a functioning radio with a single speaker, s well as functioning heat, ights, ignals, tc. Dashboard is straight, f not slightly discolored with age.
Body: Fresh limestone paint applied mid-January in Virginia, ith the wheels freshly painted silver. The roof rack and ladder were removed and painted black at the same time, rior to re-installation. Oxidization shows underneath, ut no structural rot. Jaen is a really dry region of Spain, nd we've had a lot of luck finding straight vehicles from this area.
Drive-train:All things are strong here. Low range and 4WD both engage easily and without issue. The truck fires up quickly, nd the turbo is a pleasant surprise; not overwhelmingly different, ut around the roads of Richmond it made life a little easier (or other drivers a little less frustrated... your pick). Good for about 60/65mph. Tires aren't new, ut have some life left.
About us: We've posted before, ut to reintroduce ourselves: We've started a small vehicle importation company focused on bringing antiques back from Spain. It's a fun project that lets us see, touch, nd drive some neat classic cars and trucks we might not otherwise have the opportunity to. We're a two man operation, ith Paul based in Javea, pain, nd the other (me) here in Virginia. Our focus is to shed light on the otherwise murky process of bringing vehicles back from overseas and bring some honestly and transparency to the process. To that end, aul works hard to document the process of finding the vehicle, apturing a story and photos on the trucks. We bring some transparency to bare by selling our trucks through a dealer. This truck is being offered by Japanese Classics, LC in Richmond VA where it comes with a clear VA Title.
