Description:

1969 Lancia Fulvia coupe

I purchased this series 1 1969 Lancia Fulvia 1.3S Rallye Coupe out of Italy a couple of years ago. As can be seen by the stickers on the car, the previous owner used thecar inrallyswhich to me meant that the car was mechanically fit for the job. I really liked the color combination and in person the color looks even better than the photos.

I've been told the color is called Blu Mendoza but I would describe the color as turquoise. It is the original color of this car and I think it really works with the lines of the Fulvia. The interior color is called "cuiou" which in Italian means leather.

After I purchased the car the paint was stripped, glass and doors removed, and the whole car painted while still in Italy. A new headliner was installed at that time. I have several photos showing the car while being stripped.

If you are interested in a Fulvia the series 1 car is the ones to get. These were built from 1966 through 1969, before the Fiat take over, and were built in the "Lancia way" of doing things. Lancia was known for overengineering and over building their cars, which is one of the reasons why the company did not survive financially. For example the turn signal assembly on this car is the same that Ferrari andMaserati used on their cars. When Fiat came along this expensive part was replaced with a cheaper turn signal assembly. These cars are rather interesting with their small but peppy V4 front wheel drive engine. The gearbox of the series , which Italians refer to "leva longa" is a joy to shift and most find it much better than the Fiat 5-speed gearbox that was installed in the series 2 cars.

This is a list of the recent work done on the car:
Glass out, door out repaint in Italy
New headliner
New cream carpet mats (original rubber mats under the carpet mats)
New Lancia exterior script
New Fulvia interior script
