Description:

1959 Lancia Other Zagato GTE

I am offering for sale a 1959 Lancia Appia Zagato GTE project car. This is one of the 150 or so,LWB covered headlight models that Zagatobuilt. This particular car also has the unique "frenched" taillight brows. This is a USA spec model imported by Hoffman in December 1959. The car has it's original matchingengine, gearbox, and drivetrain. The engine is not seizedor freeze cracked, and does turn by hand. All of the importantZagato trim is present andmatching the car, with the exception of the rear inner windshield surround which is from another Zagato GTE, and the missing front bumper. It does not have a front bumper. All of the glass is present and in excellent condition, with the exception of the rear windshield. It does not have a rear windshield. The front windshield is new.The car comes with a rear fender clip from another Zagato, to replace the damaged fender that is on the car. The chassis is extremelyrusty and I would think anyone attempting to restore it would need a Appia sedan donor car for the chassis sheet metal. Due to the fragility of the chassis, the car has been correctly braced for shipping, andall partswill be packed in the car to ship. I have clear legal title to the car, so foreign bidders are welcome. Here is a link to almost 60 more pictures, so a potential buyer can better evaluate the project. Please contact me with any questions before the end of the auction. Anyone wishing to see the car can do so before the end of the auction. This is a no-reserve auction, and the highest bidder will bethe new owner of the car. I will require a $1000 deposit within 24 hours of the close of the auction, and balance paid within one week of auction close.
